A review that is anything but easy to write... I also intended to write one because I love disco very much. I wonder why I adore the songs that you consider "a bit foreign." Perhaps "Anime Salve" needed a review that was a bit more poetic, personal, and seemingly less detached, because an album like this inevitably gets under your skin until it belongs to you, and it is undoubtedly poetry from beginning to end. In any case, congratulations, because the task was far from easy! :)

I also can't manage to get attached to France, musically speaking (while cinematically I can't overlook Truffaut and Malle, directors of some films I love, nor literarily Sartre and Camus). I continue Hal's fine list with Juliette Greco and I give you a 5 for the choice and the good review (even if the quotation marks are missing) :)

Honestly, I've never claimed that Maroccolo's album is better than this one (in fact, both are terrible). I can agree with the concept of simplicity, but here we are bordering on banality. I also think Ferretti is right in the lyrics of pgggr.

Let's lend a hand to friends..... let's start from Sardinia: Hal, take this album off the shopping list right now! Sfizzera: sorry, already done, but this is definitely worse than Maroccolo's, sigh! The comparison with the PGR's is downright offensive! The album is honestly a bitter disappointment, monotonous sounds and banal lyrics, strange that so many years next to Giovanni Lindo haven't inspired him at all. My comment as soon as I heard the first song was: "but it's just like Grignani's rock guy!"
