The Smiths The Queen Is Dead

Of course, the record of consecration, perhaps the one that made The Smiths better known to a less selective audience (aided by the fact that "Bigmouth strikes again" was even played on commercial radio)... but as such, it also marked, in my opinion, a distinct boundary with the group's earlier production, which I find decidedly better and to which I personally feel more attached. In my view, this album was the peak before the decline that led to the Morrissey-Marr breakup. The albums following this one, in fact, are far from the first three, which are truly remarkable and that I gladly mention...---> "Hatful of Hollow," "The Smiths," and "Meat is Murder"...
Ps: I give the album a 5 only because "Bigmouth strikes again," "I know it's over," and the wonderful "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" are worth it...

La Consoli didn’t even deserve to be mentioned alongside Polly Jean. But thank you for recalling this kind of anecdotal voice about her (which fuels my epidemic aversion to that pretentious meower made in Sicily). I understand you anyway... it’s tough to hold back certain repulsions... but precisely because P. J. shines with her own light as you rightly write, perhaps it was better not to even remember "issa" and leave her confused and happy with her own affairs...
