I detest goodism and the chat hypocrisy, that's all. The "vendemosebbène," the "volemosebbène" because it's fashionable, or whatever. I don't like either compliments or gratuitous criticisms. If I have to twist my thoughts to write, I prefer to remain silent. If I criticize Rohan, I do it honestly, I don't feel like the bad person I’m not, and I don't care what others think if I write this or that, for better or for worse (as long as I don't offend or outrage anyone, make that clear; and it's generally not my intention). I also find that the flood of criticisms aimed at the reviewer in question has done him good, considering the more favorable outcome of the latest review on Talking Heads, and that can only genuinely please me.

It seems to me that there was talk of "outdated" arrangements, not very "refined," which musically contextualize the album to the time it was released. There’s a significant difference, I think (what's the point of bringing metal into it, then, which I don't know to what extent is a guarantee of perfection in arrangements? Mah). For a "technical" De André (?), you might want to listen to the more recent "Anime Salve" as well.

Great note, Hal. De André's humanity is something that almost magically shines through the lines of his lyrics, from much of his life and from the human, civil dignity of his voice. This site lacks reviews of some great Italian poets in music. Besides De André, the aforementioned Tenco, but I would also remember Piero Ciampi. Let's hope inspiration strikes :)

Poor thing, “WELCOME” here doesn’t seem... but you’ll make it up; the goodness and relentless holiness of some will save you. In my heart, I recognize a certain ease in you, but a delirious and immodest presence overflowing with avoidable mistakes. I’m counting on better results in the number, I hope more limited, of your upcoming reviews. No one in here is as much of a jerk as they appear (but neither are they such a buddy).
