A painting that, in its simplicity, has always intrigued me because in those two faces lies the face of an entire nation in quite a negative light, perhaps a mockery of the average American bigot.

Indeed, nowadays we are served a pile of garbage at the table, blessed be the little garden behind the house.
Iron Maiden Somewhere In Time

Beautiful, very beautiful, but in my opinion this album oscillates between ecclesiastical moments and decidedly lackluster songs. While it's true that Caught Somewhere In Time, Alexander The Great, and Heaven Can Wait are magnificent, other tracks like Deja Vu or The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner are definitely tedious.

After listening to Star One, I thought this could also be a great side project for Lucassen, but I was very disappointed, not so much by the performance (top-notch singer and musicians, as always), but by the much softer genre compared to usual (except perhaps for Wherever you are and Calliopeia) and by the compositional aspect, which I find quite weak. Even the vocals with an almost epic style don't excite me much; in fact, they bore me. I agree with Sly, sufficient but nothing more.

Great review... Petty is Petty damn it, I absolutely need to have this, even the DVD... and the 5 LP version that’s coming out now... awesome!
