Apologies for the typos due to the haste of my previous post ("occasionalmente come un occasione," "pezzo si storia" iniziata (e finita) negli anni 90).

The kings of drum'n'bass try to provide a compendium of the drum'n'bass scene that began (and ended) in the '90s. There’s a reason to listen to it occasionally as an opportunity to relive a piece of electronic music history. Most of the tracks are produced by musicians firmly rooted in that genre (for example, Roni Size). To better understand how they fit into the modern electronic scene, I recommend listening to their "The remix album" from 2004.

In my opinion, 4hero haven't aged poorly because they're not tied to genres that have had their time (trip-hop and drum'n'bass). I think that in the near future, they will get influenced by wonky beats or dubstep :-)

Nice review! A great album (4Hero are among my favorites); I love "Hold it down" more than the other tracks. P.S.: Two Pages isn't bad either and starts with this piece

It reminded me a lot of certain songs by Erlend Øye. In the end, the ideas are few but clear: to create an electro-pop that is not sophisticated but also not cheesy. Objective achieved because the album delivers what it promises.
