Good review. Superboia, haven't The Roots ever told you anything? Are you referring to their debut a few years ago (1993) Organix? It's true they're a rookie group formed in 1987... but they do have some significance in the current black scene. Moreover, they are among the few hip-hop groups with outstanding musicians who really kill it live.

The merit of the beauty of Jamiroquai's first album is not solely Jason Kay's. On the contrary. The entire record is backed by an exceptional rhythm section made up of Stuart Zender on bass and Nick Van Gelder (former Ozric Tentacles) on drums In fact, the gradual flattening of the sound in their later albums is due to the departure of Van Gelder first and then Zender (from the third album onwards). I still need to delve deeper into this album, but from my first listens, it seems to be the usual exercise in post-funk soul disco style.

Erykah Badu returns to Baduism after the (in my opinion) uninspired side trips of Worldwide Underground and New Amerykah part one. We finally return to breathe in the atmosphere of the first album. I mostly agree with what you wrote in the review, but I don't understand why you didn't mention the single Window Seat (whose video was censored by Youtube) and I didn't get the final quote "I can rise from the ashes up to 20 meters."
