The Janitors Horn Ur Marken

I liked the EP with the death on the cover, I'll listen to this and let you know, but the tentacles always promise good things.
Neil Young and Promise of the Real The Visitor
Voto:
I have thirty records by Neil in my collection, I've strummed his songs for years in my room, I've recognized his influence in countless others, and, in short, he is rock. But today he doesn't even seem like a surviving dinosaur; he looks like the boiled great-grandfather of a rock dinosaur.
Marvin Pontiac The Asylum Tapes

I'm listening to it, I really like it, and in some ways, it reminds me of my cellmate Tom.

I stop by to thank the various comments and commentators. I picked up Gogol's stories and I was doubly struck: by the tales themselves and by Landolfi's prose. I was left speechless, as they say. Consequently, I also read the Dialoghi dei Massimi Sistemi and some stories by Pushkin, again translated by TL (to be honest, I somewhat reassessed his translations: he didn't make an exception for Gogol in order to better convey the style of the Russian; he writes just like that). But the virtuous circle triggered by debaser hasn’t stopped, and so I retrieved Dead Souls translated by Nori (another name mentioned here) and Notes from Underground also by Landolfi (which is one of my top books and I was curious to reread it). In short, none of this will matter to you, but I thank everyone, Russians and non-Russians alike. Aloha.

I had missed it. I repeat what I said in the other discussion: a total flop (for me). In short, I can't listen to prog and stoner metal together. My problem? Maybe. Maybe I just wasn't inclined to enter and participate in the "journey." But it’s a combination of genres that brings out the most deleterious aspects of the aforementioned, etc., etc. I can't stomach the latest Mastodon or Baroness, and I won’t go back to name groups I won't name since they’ve already been named, amen. One last note and then I’ll be quiet, I wouldn't even remotely associate the Swans with this.
Pontiak Dialectic of Ignorance

Instead, speaking of repetitive people, lately I have enjoyed Electric Wizard (even though they've started to bore me too), Ufomammut (a bit different from the usual, more concise and straightforward), Causa Sui (who for me have now surpassed their masters Colour Haze), and of course Endless Boogie, who make records practically with a cookie cutter but please everyone.

Both Pontiak and Arbouretum have worn me out. The former don't have the numbers to adapt to a more concise and traditional form; they really only hit hard on the more abstract or psychedelic pieces. The latter were interesting when their bucolic style was on the edge and sometimes became weighed down, almost entering into Sabbath territory (the opening of "rites of uncovering" is magnificent); now that they're no longer on the edge, they're just boringly balanced. In short, the two albums (released together on Thrill Jockey) are, for me, two flunks.
Endless Boogie Vibe Killer

I can listen to this rock for so long that with Full House Head I was almost on guitar overdose. A great record, like the others by the way, the perfect Rolling Stones played on an infinite loop.
Dopplereffekt Gesamtkunstwerk

I don't follow the genre, except for kraut, but I still remember the alienating impact of Calabi Yau Space ten years ago (and the delirious page of destruction). I'm amusing myself now - if that's the right term - with Cellular Automata; I feel like I'm becoming rarefied in a Higgs boson. Post-human stuff.
Squadra Omega Le Nozze Chimiche
Voto:
Favorite album of the moment, always on loop at home. Knowing the Squad, it’s a loop of a loop. It starts off sounding like Fahey, then it goes up and down the Balkans, and meanwhile the saxophones have ended up in space, with the bass that at one point is so insistent it becomes psychedelic too. And my mind spins. And then it’s brief and stored in an aluminum plate ready to be launched toward Alpha Centauri. In short, for me, it’s love.
