The Flaming Lips Zaireeka
Voto:
Hi Zaireeka, I managed to listen to you for 3/4 (but mostly for 2/4) a few years before I read you on DeB. Today I have no CD player and no Zaireeka, so too bad. The Flaming Lips I prefer are the punk+acid ones (the early albums).

I didn't know a damn thing, I don’t listen to a damn thing anymore, but this album has been playing in the stereo since that page came out. Of course, it's an easy play with algol, mixing Swans + Unsane + Cop Shoot Cop. For me, I especially hear the latter, so: good, a real treat. Less good when it’s "just" Unsane (This Dead Sea, sorry). I've also watched a few videos on YouTube; Contact (not on the album in question) for example, I didn’t like: clichéd lyrics about the epidemic… yes, I got that the sickness unseen is something "else"... something else that feels forced. Instead, Spencer (who to be honest I don't know that well) in the videos reminded me a lot of Ian Mackaye during the End Hits era, and also the album in certain respects.
David Cronenberg Inseparabili

I would like to see it again... I remember Jeremy Irons - because unforgettable - and some disturbing gynecological tools. My favorite Cronenberg film among those I've seen (a phrase that means nothing). If they put it on Netflix with Cannarsi's adaptation, I'll definitely watch it. Regards.
Antoine Volodine Terminus radioso

intimidated by Terminus, I instead picked up Angeli Minori. It's 49 stories he calls narrat, 49 musical pieces that, if I knew how to write, would be the kind of stuff I would write. I connected immediately. I savored them, reading and rereading them before falling asleep. Needless to say, I will move on to Terminus Radioso.

I too, intrigued by the contrasting judgment with Sotto, listened. I admit that I got fed up and stopped three-quarters of the way through; I didn’t like it at all. So, superficially, I see no reason for a minimum rating nor the qualities of a four. Some cheap tricks annoyed me, there’s a lot of craft, and, in short, this is the kind of music I imagine my cousin listening to on the couch while reading the newspaper and his wife is ironing. For me, it’s probably a two, but I’ll hold off on giving a rating.

My older cousins had a collection of Urania science fiction books, and in middle school, I read at least ten of them. I can't even remember a single one!

It's the one I prefer, perhaps precisely because it's raw, and then debuts are always debuts. Later on, J's languid singing ended up irritating me as well. In short, never loved, unlike Puppets and Young; however, I recognize their importance: for example, Kurt Vile, whom I listen to every day, wouldn't exist.
Andrey Zvyagintsev Loveless
Voto:
I saw it, driven by this page. Alone, of course, since nobody wanted to join me. In the theater, it was just me and three or four distinctly dressed middle-aged couples, and I was already feeling down. However, the film is so programmatic in stripping every trace of "love" from human relationships that this programmatic nature (is that the term?) made me question: is the reality of Russia (and ours) really that gray and empty? Is it becoming so? Do we have it up our asses? Or has Zvyagintsev exaggerated, deliberately digging right there and twisting the knife into the wound? Rhetorical questions; to me, it feels more like a warning: "look, without love it's THIS ugly, so love!". And at the peak of my musings, my two neurons clashed and wondered: is Zy a Christian? Did he do Boy Scouts? Does he enjoy smacking his genitals? And I left happy to see colors again. I hope I'm not wrong.

I've been listening to them ever since I read your comment about them, but damn, I just can't wrap my head around it!

For me, it cannot be a disappointment because I've never liked "altricalexico" with their bland pop rock; so I won't listen to it. Instead, The Black Light is my favorite """tex-mex""" album of all time, alongside Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, and so be it.
