Meat Puppets Too High to Die

Ugh, the first album by the Puppets that I didn’t like at all. They had moved to a Major label with the previous Forbidden Places, which makes this one seem miles behind. Too High To Die instead made me give up on them; I have everything of theirs up to this point. Haloah.

Uh, I just realized that the reviews page ordered by year isn't working! I mean, the first one works but the ones after don't...

Yes, yes, well done maryg. I fully agree with psycho's comment on the latest trendy releases, which all the sites are boringly bouncing around.

They are similar in that the voice is the same and Selberg has a very personal style. However, I would say they are more, uhm, groovy, modern (so to speak) and less blues-garage?

Beautiful, I was just re-listening to these today, recommended by Sfascia some time ago. I suggest at least a listen to the tarry and remarkable Black Forest by the stepbrothers A Frames, who can be heard here in songs like "Rooms and Bags" or "Our Solar System." On similar coordinates, I highlight the latest Heroine Sheiks "Journey to the End of the Knife" (Shannon Selberg of the magnificent Cows) which might be their best little record (and not surprisingly it's released on the momentarily resurrected Amphetamine Reptile).

Fixed link. Ohio, well. The review, well. I must miserably confess that I never really cared for Crosby, Stills & Nash. Am I going to be punished?
