Union Carbide Productions In The Air Tonight

What can I say, these Thee Hypnotics might be tuned to certain sounds, but they really remind me of Gallon Drunk and also some Aussie psychedelia from the 80s (chronologically speaking, it's the opposite, of course), and I like them for sure, as sure as gold. I’ll add: in this album by Union Carbide Productions, I hear quite a bit of psychedelic hard-rock but in a very twisted way, like the Butthole Surfers. For example, I Want More sounds like a garage version of the Butthole Surfers cranked up to the max, but especially the final hallucinatory delirium with a recited lullaby.

A beautiful swerve for this record, a renewed miracle even in my veins thanks to super. In the meantime, I’m putting on Inside Out for the umpteenth time, pulling out the self-titled from Modey Lemon, and downloading Thee Hypnotics, but these UCP are muuuch heavier than the Stooges, see Down on the Beach which, more than a slow hypnotic noise, feels like basking in an enormous heavy riff.

I still have to absorb those 69 songs, I got it because you can find it for cheap almost everywhere (there must be a reason?). I liked Distortion, this one seems "good" as Odra says, I'm listening to The Charm of the Highway Strip and it's really going down well, but this Merrit...

Well, I don't understand this fixation with Geek the Girl either; it doesn't seem much different from the rest of the discography, which is all great by the way. @Fosca: you love this woman with all your heart and you didn't notice one of her CDs released over a year ago? A bit lacking as a suitor ;) // @Tarpit: actually, I did a bit of research and: the Swans reunion isn't a true reunion, but to sum up what Gira says, instead of calling his new album Angels of Light, he calls it Swans. No Jarboe unfortunately.

On eBay, Geek the Girl can be found. I’ve only heard about this in passing, so I can’t say for sure, but it's certainly hard to believe she produced anything bad. By the way, I took the opportunity to check out the Young God site by Gira (which has been publishing Lisa for a few years now): the new SWANS album is coming out (!!).
Red Red Meat Bunny Gets Paid

It's like a "work in progress" fresco where songs rooted in traditional American music sink into lo-fi and are almost hidden by a haze of experimentation that makes them blurred and acidic, precious because concealed, all with an aura of total laziness like a Sunday morning with bleary eyes and a headache. It's strange, blues and country past their expiration date, gone bad, laziness, coughs, silences filled with distant noises; to me, it's a great rock album, perhaps the best from Red Red Meat precisely because it appears so imperfect and incomplete, and the most similar to the subsequent project Califone, which I personally adore. Of course, said with hindsight, as I've also gotten the new edition of an otherwise hard-to-find album. In my opinion, it's not the pinkholler you mean.

Uhm I’m not sure if it’s really by Ash Ra Tempel, it might be by Ashra or solo Gottsching, it’s probably the usual trip!
