:) Well, I have the first Mogwai album, and then I've heard Mr. Beast a few times, but I have to say that both Mono and GYBE, as well as Explosions and Sigur Ros really bore me, and quite a lot too. It's just that sound that I can't stand. I even tried with some lesser-known stuff (like Sweek), but nothing. Anyway, thanks for the advice, I'll go listen.

Mainly instrumental, I would add. I don't know, the Mogwai kinda bore me; anyway, I associate post-rock more or less with the Louisville scene after Slint, like Aerial M, For Carnation, and related bands such as Gastr Del Sol, June of 44, or even the neo-psychedelic stuff from Kranky (Labradford and Roy Montgomery), all of which is stuff that predates and, in my opinion, is more important than the Mogwai. However, I realize that it's a bit like talking about everything and nothing at once.

I agree it's panic, although I've never really understood the importance of the Mogwai.

You wrote that it was part of "little groups like Slint, Tortoise, The For Carnation, Zwan," and you made that comparison quite explicit, labeling it as a comparison of "caliber." I assure you that I can read well and I certainly didn't attack the reviewer; I was merely pointing out that Zwan don't match the caliber of the other Pajo groups you mentioned. Regards.

I listened to it again and it’s really warped, I had forgotten about it, very buttholesurfing I would say, good stuff.

I listened to the latest black metal work, Evila (you can listen to it for free on Pajo's website), and it's not even that bad; of course, the days of Papa M are gone. A questionable review for giving five stars to a good album and that comparison of Zwan to various Slint, For Carnation, etc., which is just unacceptable. @uhuhpanico: granted that when we talk about post-rock, we're talking about everything and nothing, I see Slint and Mogwai as very distant.

Well, yes, but I prefer the cavemen Buffalo to the thugs Rose Tattoo (from whom they descend).

I don't understand why Alternative Tentacles is in bold and the great Amphetamine Reptile isn't. Moreover, the album discussed and the entire career of the God Bullies seem to be on AmRep, an authentic goldmine for a certain off-kilter '90s sound; only the latest one (which I've heard is underwhelming) is on Biafra's label. Interesting find, Haloah.

I didn't even notice! Damn, four years; I definitely wouldn't write a review with such enthusiastic and slightly naive tones anymore. Bye.

Well, thanks for the rescue, I'm a bit embarrassed about it... Bore, are you saying you need to get high because you're not appreciating it enough?
