It's always the same thing, but they really do it well.
Woven Hand Refractory Obdurate
Voto:
I like it too, I've never heard a wovenhand with such heavy and "doom" atmospheres. Shamanic Sabbath-like.
Deerhunter Fading Frontier
Voto:
It reminds me of the last albums by Mercury Rev (terrible to me), so it’s better to re-listen to Deserter's Songs. I discovered Deerhunter with the EP Fluorescent Grey, which remains their best alongside Microcastle in my opinion. Regarding the length: perfection for me was and will always be the length of an EP; anything longer makes me tired/bored. I was already thinking this in high school when listening to Bad Religion: 30 minutes per album, a minute and a half per song, long before the internet. I can only allow for excesses with Michael Gira :)
Gianni Giublena Rosacroce Musica Da Camera Oscura
Voto:
Discovered on Our Lady of the Shadows and some other comp of "Italian Occult Psychedelia" (ridiculous but cool name); too little "rock" for my tastes, I prefer listening to stuff like In Zaire, Lay Llamas, or La Piramide di Sangue (I know, they have little to do with it...). I'm listening to it on Bandcamp and I agree with odradek, the page is centered.
Aerial M Aerial M
Voto:
For me, the best are Live From a Shark Cage and Whatever Mortal; in any case, Pajo from the 90s is all great, and I believe therealramona will confirm that.
Ash Ra Tempel Join Inn
Voto:
The track that drives me the craziest is Amboss from the self-titled album, but Freak'n'Roll is no joke. I remember the B-sides of Ash Ra Tempel very vaguely, anyway Join Inn is a disco masterpiece.
Pile You're Better Than This
Voto:
Exaggerated five stars! For me, the best quality of this album is the variety: they have created a summary of 90s American rock that ranges from Jesus Lizard to Neutral Milk Hotel, from Fugazi to Uncle Tupelo, managing to maintain cohesion and conciseness while sounding credible even in a fingerpicking piece.
Melvins Hold It In
Voto:
Beautiful Hold It In I bought it, screw the money for me it’s the most “fun” since Nude with Boots. It’s a mix between Independent Worm Saloon by the surfers and Stag, obviously not at those levels but it works for the commute home-work-home. After the horrible Bride Screamed Murder I thought “goodbye Melvins”, instead...
Johnny Cash Unearthed
Voto:
Did I listen to it? I don't remember... Instead, I know very well and love chapters 3 and 4 of the American Recordings. The Johnny Cash of the covers with Rick Rubin is the best Johnny Cash for me, but come on, I'd leave Dostoevsky alone :)
