Nirvana Unplugged In New York

Even Bowie was moved by Cobain's rendition of his "The Man Who Sold the World," no kidding, there was a sincere soul here who was spewing out on society, and sincere characters like this are rare. Even David Byrne of the Talking Heads said how pure Kurt Cobain was, and how difficult it was for him to stay pure in the business.

I consider TILT the most abyssal album of the 90s, along with a few others (no more than 4 or 5 titles), and I have to say that this one hits hard just the same. However, TILT intrigues me more; The Drift is even freer, while the madness of TILT was more structured. So I would say TILT 10/10 and The Drift no more than 9/10. On The Drift, there isn’t a track like "Farmer in the City" or "Patriot" that adds that extra something to its predecessor (also for the author, whom I believe is unbeatable).

The J&MC overshadow these guys; kids from 2006, wake up! The Black Rebel don't have an ounce of the iconoclasm of bands like the J&MC, and especially not at a musical level. These are just three fools without a gram of the originality and sound quality that the Reid brothers had.

It took just a few lines to make your miserable world full of miserable uncertainties waver.

The truth hurts you; otherwise, all this bloodshed over a review wouldn't make sense.

I really liked the review; in my opinion, sites like this need characters like Sanjuro, especially when his anger genuinely shines through. I appreciate that there are still people who go beyond the usual homework assignments. I like this review just as I used to enjoy the reviews by people like Enkrikio or Vic Sorriso, because you can feel that they speak sincerely and that their approach is not just a self-indulgent pose. It’s clear that this isn’t about the narcissism of a little exhibitionist. Let’s not forget that all these beautiful things (mythomania, narcissism, vanity, egomania) are especially present in great artists and enlightened minds who know how to bring out contradictions from virulent gags, and when they hurt the reader, then they’ve struck a chord. Just reading something by Enkrikio or Vic Sorriso (and the respective insults found at the bottom of their pages) makes it clear that many of their tirades were, in their tragic nature, a form of entertainment that stood purposefully on kitsch, not so far from certain caustic skits à la Andy Kaufman, Bertolt Brecht, or Carmelo Bene. Credit goes to the managers of this site for allowing those who want to stir the waters a bit without censorship (okay, sometimes you’ve censored too, but I’m not well-acquainted with the events that led to that).

a negligible album, you say Joe Strummer?? for me, it’s a negligible review instead, and then what do Drake and Buckley have to do with it? only you know.
