I read the novel, and I would give it a passing grade if only for the well-managed pathos. That said, I've never seen the film, nor do I see reasons why I should try to watch it (aside from Audrey Tautou), but since the created is always less than or equal to its creator, I fear that the film adaptation will likely be even less worthwhile than the novel itself, so I’ll give it a solid 2 out of trust. Quite an ugly review.

the sequel to the trilogy is horrible, and in my opinion it somewhat tarnishes the image of this film, giving the story an absolutely disappointing and trivial continuation. Nevertheless, this remains a beautiful movie.
