Actually, I've changed my mind... I was too harsh: it's a 2... average...

As much as I may partially agree with the criticisms directed at Benigni and his film, I think this review is poor and fundamentally empty. Poor because it doesn't offer anything new compared to the other review of the same film; empty because it expresses a judgment without providing any argumentation to support it. In practice, it enters from one side and exits from the other, it doesn't provoke thought, it leaves nothing behind.

I agree... disappointment! I liked it on the first listen, but maybe because I was distracted. "Knights of Cydonia" and "Supermassive Black Hole" are great, but in my opinion, the best is "Starlight"! I don't like the others.

to Poletti: you say "most of us understand little to nothing about cinema"... what can I say? you’re probably right; after all, it’s very fashionable to act like cinema experts, even when you really know nothing about it. I myself know little about cinema, I admit, but I enjoy it. I like talking about it and hearing others talk about it, even and especially in a 'layman's' way; and if we’re talking about it, there are plenty of people on Debaser who know little about music, that’s for sure, and I, too, know well that I’m not an expert, but it’s the same argument as before. But what about you? Have you ever shown the contrary? Have you ever demonstrated that you are a cinema expert, someone who really understands? Do you have a badge to prove it? It doesn’t seem so to me, and in any case, right now, I’m not interested. And if you are, when I grow tired of reading ignorant people and discussing with those who don’t understand, I’ll drop by your reviews, maestro.

great review: able to analyze the film and describe its meanings without revealing the plot (as unfortunately often happens in negative reviews). The film is very engaging, but for a director, I think it's all too easy to handle and represent such a psychological situation in this way without allowing the viewer to understand anything, reserving the final twist for themselves... I’m also trying to keep the plot of the film unclear, so nothing I say will make sense :-) anyway, great film.
