Beirut The Rip Tide
Voto:
I haven't listened to this album yet either, but Beirut has taken on a special meaning for me. I live in a distant and alien country now for quite some time. Listening to this music, this more than any other, feels like it drags my mind westward, to the warm Italian beaches, to the sun-kissed alleys of some French town, or sometimes Russian, Greek, Lebanese... and I love postcards from Italy, so much so that since the last time I was home, I brought back some beautiful postcards of my city for my friends here. Strange, right? P.S. I liked the digression about Zack that you made in the review; he deserves it!

how beautiful beirut is! and what a beautiful beirut! but how beautiful beirut is!
Cormac McCarthy Meridiano Di Sangue

Perhaps I'm the only one, but McCarthy still hasn't completely convinced me. I really liked and was even surprised by The Road (in the sense that I didn't expect it to be like that). On the contrary, the infamous No Country for Old Men didn't say much to me upon careful analysis. Maybe it's my fault for not being able to understand where he wanted to go with it. Perhaps I'm too naive or idealistic to accept/interpret his weltanschauung (UH!) through which I couldn't make sense of the things he writes. Or maybe I'm just a fool. As for the rest, I haven't read anything else; but from the review, it seems that some elements reappear here as well. Am I mistaken? Is there a way to get to the bottom of what goes on in this man's head when he writes a novel?
Vauro, Vincino Il Male

No, I'm sorry, even in that case it would be a gross semantic abuse. I didn't mean to be rude; I was hoping that by teasing you, you would respond. Words have meaning, geenoo. Exactly, let's try to understand it and interpret the contexts, instead of just copying and pasting definitions from online dictionaries, okay? ;-)
Lou Reed and Metallica Lulu

I can't wait to hear it, damn it! I bet many metalheads will wrinkle their noses at this collaboration regardless. On the other hand, in metal, if you stray just a moment from what is "supposed-to-be," the crowd immediately goes into a frenzy and starts singing the chorus of "the first album was better, even if it was rougher." But let's also give Metallica the chance to make an interesting album after decades (decades!) of sadness and regrets.

Alright, it's clear. You've realized you've made a blunder, and now you're using the technique of playing dumb to get out of it. It would be embarrassing, on the other hand, to have to admit you used the word "reactionary" without knowing its meaning. I get it. Double 1. Hooray.

Yes, but what about the concept of reactionary?

Voto:
reactionary? argue.

how nice. I feel compelled to say it

When it came out, I committed to finding it with little success; where I live, these things are not found. Then I saw it timidly materialize on a stall full of knick-knacks in Bangkok. I bought it, but it didn’t work. Following this disappointment, not only did I never have the chance to listen to it again, but I also completely forgot about it. Perhaps the time has come to take action.
