Indeed, now that I've thought about it for months, I agree with those who disagreed with me about the fact that this wasn't their best album.

Some time ago I wrote a review of 'love metal' saying it seemed to me their best album... well, in the meantime I've changed my mind, I think it's better to focus on the first two, 'greatest lovesongs v666' and 'razorblade romance'. Even the latest one, 'venus doom', I find very beautiful, but also very different... if you want to educate yourself starting from scratch, then I would recommend 'razorblade romance', or at least to proceed in chronological order. Good luck...

Based solely on the samples (which I hadn't noticed before), it seems I have to agree with you when you say it doesn't have too much of an Eastern vibe. As for the singing in the native language, I believe it's almost always true that hearing the sound of a particular language, like Turkish, makes everything much more fascinating than it would be in English. However, we must also consider the difficult barrier of understanding... but from an artistic-communicative-emotional point of view, I think it's a smart choice.

This summer, I found myself involved in Izmir at a concert of a Turkish pop singer-songwriter named Muhabbet Kart. Frankly, it was pretty awful; perhaps it's because a summer filled with Turkish music would wear thin even on a deaf person! I couldn't really identify her amidst the jumble of oriental songs and tunes that I absorbed. Anyway, the review is decent, and this unusual Middle Eastern digression piqued my interest. P.S.: what a great nickname, Bodhisattva!! If I had to choose one now, I would have picked this, or even better, Arhat! Regards.

I don't know, but it seems cool to me! The review seems much better than the one you wrote about Venus Doom! Regards.

I give you a 5 because I just read it and I was in stitches!

"The first single taken from the album is 'Sugar', followed by 'Spiders' and 'War'. Songs that immediately make it clear to the listener that they are not (in fact, that they were not) a commercial band"... what an articulate and far from superficial musical discussion. A review lacking in grammatical accuracy as well as substance. Moreover, it's pointless. 1

No matter how deep your justified animosity towards the group may be, and no matter how well-equipped you are to criticize, doesn't it seem at least unfair, if not a tad hypocritical, to vote for an album that you have quite likely heard very little about and even less of which you have listened to any tracks? I’m not talking about the whole thing, maybe just one or two songs, just to have that vague idea...? I already officially apologize to anyone who will contradict me by claiming they are familiar with the album in question.

Well... Iceland isn't that vast, if I have to make a geographical point... it’s about the same size as Northern Italy, give or take.
