Marco Travaglio Lo Stato Montificio

@extro91, I tried various times to respond to your comment but I keep getting an error, along with various other errors, and I can't reply; I think it's due to the VPNs I'm using to bypass the wise censorship. Anyway, I'm copy-pasting what I attempted to respond, hoping that one day, not too far away, you'll notice: you explained. What can I say? It's true, he is undoubtedly right-wing, but that's not a fault. It's true, he is a legalist, but given the times we are in, I would define myself as such too without hesitation. It's true, Travaglio is not fighting at all for the overcoming of the political economic system, in fact, he's quite fine with it; it's his right. It's true, regarding foreign politics and many other issues, he has ideas that are light-years away from mine, and also a bit short-sighted. However, as long as he does his job in his field (because I would bash all those know-it-alls who are so in vogue on their gums) and doesn't overstep into areas where he's clearly not strong, I’m fine with him keeping his ideas. Now, about the free and objective discourse, which is the most interesting part of your reply, well, from my perspective, objectivity, objectively, doesn't exist. However, there is a bit of freedom, that's for sure. And among the many things that can be attributed to Travaglio, I don't think we can say he is anyone's servant. Then again, as I said myself, sometimes he takes blunders, sometimes he makes mistakes, sometimes he says nonsense. Well! I don't think that's a good reason to blindly vomit on everything he writes. Otherwise, it would be like saying, "Do you like Diego Milito? For me, he is a formidable striker." "No, I don't like him, because as a central defender, he sucks."

ahaha this review is a pleasure to read; I wouldn't have relegated it here, after all, much more modest reviews have been placed on the homepage. 5 for appreciation
Marco Travaglio Lo Stato Montificio

"... dear, good Marco Travaglio, perhaps the only national exegete capable of validly telling us what waters we are navigating..." I completely disagree with this statement; as much as I appreciate Travaglio's work, now and then he makes glaring mistakes that he sometimes, inexplicably, stubbornly defends to the end. Furthermore, I have always thought that his journalistic style is better suited to the television format, his classic 10-minute monologues like Santoro's, rather than to print media, where, amidst ironic and histrionic jests, he ends up, in my opinion, undermining the credibility of what he himself writes. A completely different discourse applies to the published books, which overflow with figures and data. Clearly, even there in the fq editorial office, they need some deaf.
Dream Theater Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence

Dream Theater are the musical equivalent of intestinal distress; when I listen to them, I have the same sensation I would have squatting in a public bathroom in Bangkok without partitions, the thick humidity stinging with the smell of excrement, while I and four or five others around me are all suffering from a sudden bout of diarrhea, and the expressions of suffering on our sweaty faces find no relief in our bowel movements, because we all know there's not even a bit of toilet paper.

You've infected me with your enthusiasm. Let's say I'll go see them too if the opportunity arises.

Beautiful. I agree with everything, except for the term "rottamazione"; let’s leave that to the professional scrap dealers and those who should be mayors and stay silent. I don't think it suits Francesco...

beautiful review-tribute to Guccini. It was a shock to read that this would be his last album, yet this is completely in line with the character, or rather the person, whom I believe I have at least partially come to know through his works and verses over the years. Sadness due to the awareness that there will be no more, quickly softened by the memories of all that Guccini has gifted us. Thank you, Francesco, and please, drink good wine and eat good cured meats and cheeses for me too!
