Ale, you’re an idiot. At least Sentence told you some home truths while insulting you, but you just throw out nonsense like a spoiled child. The Depeche Mode are a great band, but unlike U2, they’ve made excellent albums but not masterpieces. The fact that the Depeche Mode influenced Nirvana is news to me... And then you want to act like an expert?! A little humility, please. As for Williams, he certainly won’t make masterpieces, but he’s got guts. And nowadays, there are very few with real guts. Go comment on the albums you like most, don’t be a whiny child trying to teach the “grown-ups.”

Furthermore: Britti, it’s true, has been writing lyrics since he was a child. Pezzali, in the nineties, still sang (with clever and catchy melodies) about life in the Pavia area. We couldn’t expect him to talk about war, prostitution, and emancipation like Dylan and Springsteen, or De Gregori and De André. I don’t think the concept of singer-songwriter should be limited to being conservative and, indeed, restrictive.

Primiballi, your speech might apply to perhaps the first two albums of Lorenzo. I'm not a fanatic of his music, but I really appreciated his musical and cultural evolution. He is a person who has traveled, studied, and has an incredible knowledge of different types of music and sounds. In short, someone who is interested in a bunch of things. Of course, his work has been influenced by this, and positively. I understand that it’s very difficult to shake off an image of oneself that has been absorbed by listeners, but come on, it has been more than 15 years. He is no longer the teenager he used to be. That’s something that some of us (fortunately not many) should understand. So, step out of “that preconceived notion” that prejudices the very judgments themselves. Bye.

Ah, I almost forgot
"Magnificent, imaginative fresco on the last stretch of the millennium: U2 shun the danger of routine and after careful consideration, aim for the frontier of human-faced technology. The songs on the album are danceable, yet moody, stirring the specter of a dehumanized society before embracing the listener in a warmth that harkens back to the womb. 'One', 'Mysterious Ways', 'Love is Blindness', 'Until the End of the World' encapsulate in just a few minutes the looming sense of a modernity that is at times hostile. An ideal bridge between Dublin and Berlin, with production by Eno, Lanois, Lillywhite: all together passionately. Hip hip, hurrah!" You practically left her bare. She said so many nonsense things that it would have been really difficult to keep her standing. Dear Ale, did you know that this album was made in Berlin right after the fall of the wall? Have you tried to read and especially to understand the sharp yet sweet and romantic lyrics of Bono ("I'm ready for the laughing gas" "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle..." etc.)? The sound is fragmented, unlike anything I’ve ever heard before, truly the best post-modern rock we’ve been gifted. U2 ignites a feeling that, unfortunately, isn’t shared by all of humanity: sensitivity. And those who lack it miss out on something magnificent.

I see that I think the same way: for me, Springsteen is divine, but he had some flops in the '80s. The same goes for Elton John or Bob Dylan. The U2 definitely released albums that are inferior to "The Joshua Tree" or "Achtung Baby," but never albums devoid of soul. Even the questionable "Pop" was a very courageous effort, though only partially successful. As for "Rattle and Hum," I reiterate that it's essential for discovering U2; everyone should start from that.

One does not simply be born a fan of a band; one becomes one. Therefore, I celebrated them because I know what U2 means and what these four men are like as individuals. If you start dating a girl, I think you'll promote her well among your friends, or am I wrong?
