Ryan Adams Easy Tiger

I have everything from him, except '29. He is undoubtedly the new generation artist I follow the most. I too would prefer he was less prolific, avoiding to release nice songs, but not exceptional ones like others. His best album is undoubtedly Gold, but I love being shaken up by Rock n roll and I absolutely adore Love is hell... Easy tiger will be mine soon...

what a beautiful nostalgic story... I'm also eagerly awaiting one of their concerts :( Anyway, I still can't quite digest "New Gold Dream," while "Sparkle in the Rain" is a magnificent album, with great energy, majestic...

Well, it's obvious that if we look at Africa as a whole, it’s not a better place compared to a few years ago. But things have been done, indeed. I continue to believe in Bono's good faith, not because I like his music, but because I think he is a great person. In my opinion, the greatest cunning of Bono has been his choice never to align himself politically, becoming one of the few non-politicians who can ask for (and often get) what he wants. Bono has charisma, he is aware of this, and he tries to leverage it to bring the best for others and not for himself. I believe that all the money Bono has earned over the years can be attributed solely to his career as the leader of an extraordinary band, certainly not because he misappropriates funds.

Furthermore, I believe it’s much wiser to distinguish things rather than to generalize. Otherwise, Romans are bumpkins, Neapolitans are thieves, Genoese are stingy, and Sicilians are mafia members. I would be cautious about being so drastic. "Those who are rich and famous are fools and are not credible when they do certain things." This seems to me to be the gist of your speech...

Before '85, he was involved in internal affairs, and since that year, in the issues concerning Africa. I simply believe in the good faith of Bono and also of other people, in addition to knowing well the paths Bono has taken throughout his life, as I am a passionate fan of U2's music and have known someone quite close to them. I also believe that the fact that the band was on the verge of breaking up due to the considerable time Bono dedicated to other matters is a valid reason. Together with his wife Ali, they are personally involved in many campaigns; they are really on the front lines. In short, faced with all these things, I have formed a rather clear idea. If it’s not the same for you, that’s fine; we just have a different way of looking at things.

But there is no way that what you say is true. If one wants to do good, must they act like Saint Francis? I don’t understand this reasoning. Surely there are those who do these things to show off, but why generalize? Bono has always been active in social issues since the first album, so why do you say these things? Regarding Cannes, U2 were presenting a film, not throwing a party for the Monegasque royals. This hostility sounds to me like the nihilistic tones I have never tolerated. Always this continuous suspicion, in the bad faith of people, typical of today’s left… (without getting into your political ideologies, you may have opposing views)… Always with respect.

L, forgive me, but it really doesn't say anything. I don't like it at all. "Domo mia" is a piece of incredible beauty, though. Moreover, Dottori has an extraordinary voice.

Here I just got home, so I agree with what y2j writes. I believe that to help a continent like Africa, it is not necessary to live like hermits there and work for Mandela. Bono often goes to Africa, to the villages (you will find many videos on YouTube), and he established DATA, a very important foundation that fights AIDS and poverty in the poorest countries. However, it’s obvious that the mobilization of wealthy, famous, and especially charismatic people like Bono, Bill Gates, Clinton, Sting, etc., is not enough. The "fault" that these figures have is thinking that the cause of the public debt of African countries is solely the responsibility of Western states. In reality, it's only partly the fault of the USA, Great Britain, Japan, etc. The problem mainly originates from the African countries themselves that have gone into debt with banks (i.e., private entities). Therefore, it seems a bit utopian for banks to decide to write off debts amounting to millions of dollars. Not to mention the various dictators and bloodthirsty leaders that have succeeded one another over the decades. Bono & Co. can make the situation much less dire, but in my opinion, they cannot resolve the problem entirely. That said, I firmly support what they do to help those who cannot rise above and, above all, to live with dignity.

And anyway, for me "Obladiobladà" and "Bungalow Bill" are wonderful too. If only all Pop songs were like this!
