Genesis ....Calling All Stations...

so...let's see...well...here it goes...I'm a bit embarrassed...but I want to say it...forgetting that this group is called "Genesis", I liked it, and very much so...I want to highlight "Calling All Stations"; "Shipwrecked"; "Alien Afternoon"; "Not About Us"; "The Dividing Line"; "Uncertain Weather"; maybe because I find these melodies sad and nostalgic, maybe because I find the entire endeavor sad...maybe because I'm getting older...

I know that this album touches you deeply, which is why you responded "enthusiastically" to my review, thank you... Paolos, you are right, the two tracks you mentioned also deserved space in the review, but there was the risk of having to mention them all :)... I find it unforgivable not to have mentioned "Isn't it nice to be home again," while I implicitly referred to "Hey mister that's me upon the jukebox" when I told the story of how I accidentally played the B side first, and I immediately fell in love with it :)...

stunning sounds... at least three exceptional tracks (for me, of course) "Frame By Frame", "Matte Kudasai", "The Sheltering Sky"... the vocals are perfect and in harmony with the album's sound... one note, there are some "repetitive obsessions" that I find less inspired compared to the past... the same year as Abacab? well, this gives greater value to "Discipline", for Genesis "Abacab" is the "end of the end", because the end had already begun some time ago, and I say this reluctantly as I have loved, despite everything, even the various "A Trick Of A Tail", "And Then There Were Three", "Duke"... of "Abacab" I save only the title track... a review not shared does not mean it is bad...

Well, what can I say... I've always liked it... an album can be good without necessarily being a masterpiece...

Damn it, "I didn't know this guy"... now I'm really enjoying it... thank you!!! I might vote for the album when I've had a chance to really absorb it; right now, it'd be a rushed vote...

I had already ruled out that it could be a joke :)...

Festwca, if I weren't convinced of your good faith, I would think it's a "pulling your leg" :)... isn't a 5-star review already a sufficient recommendation? :)... anyway, for the album CSN, see above, for a more "intimate" approach, listen carefully to the acoustic tracks from the live album "4 Way Street," like "The Lee Shore," "Triad," "Right Between The Eyes," "Laughing," in any case, the whole album is really wonderful...

Festwca, meanwhile, thanks for the 4 :)... I must tell you that if it's true, but deep down I'm not really convinced, that Neil Young is the best of the 4, I definitely prefer him solo, just like I prefer CSN without him :)...

You know, I often wonder whether "it's nice that something is meant for a few, or if something beautiful should be made available to everyone." I never find an answer, of course "beautiful things should be generously cherished, but the generous one is the artist, who creates not only for themselves but also for others"... so, I honestly don't know what to wish for "The lee Shore"...

But, in Italy, how many of us will know "The lee shore," maybe a thousand? Outside of deBaser, I’ve never met anyone who knew it :(
