The review seems a bit incomplete to me, although that doesn't change the fact that I still think it's well-written: it's just a bit short. As for the album... dive and been a son are unmatched.

I respect your opinion, Andrea, even though giving a 1 to a Queen album really seems like a huge bullshit to me.
The Beatles Rubber Soul

I started educating my ears with the Beatles... and I have to thank them for making music my passion. I also changed later, I listened to Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Hendrix, Dire Straits, Deep Purple, The Who, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Queen... but what the Beatles did from '65 onwards starting from Rubber Soul... laid the foundations for the music of that time and beyond. It’s obvious afterwards: they were pop-rock, but in those years many different genres emerged, pushed forward by other bands, and it's clear that the Beatles couldn't have done them all. However, they laid the groundwork. Those who say that their songs were just catchy pop choruses and commercial (which is true for the early ones in '63-64) perhaps have never really listened to A Day in the Life or Michelle... but the comparison with Pooh seems like a ridiculous low blow.

I must say that I consider Freddie Mercury to be a great, one of the musical geniuses of the 20th century. I love Queen and their music. I agree with what you say about the fact that without Mercury, the Queen of today are no longer the true Queen. But don’t you think it would have been the same if May, Deacon, or Taylor were missing instead of Mercury? Let's say that the absence of one of the latter two would have been somewhat compensated (this is true) by the presence of Mercury (not so much for May), but it wouldn’t have been entirely replaced. Do you understand what I mean? It’s obvious that today the absence of Mercury, the frontman/leader of the band, is felt much more; it weighs heavily. That’s all. Regarding Led Zeppelin, I don't think what you say is entirely true: Page was the founding leader of the band, even though it’s true that Bonham and Plant had very strong personalities. Jones was more in the background, doing his own thing. If Led Zeppelin broke up due to Bonham's death, don’t you think Queen would have done the same if Taylor were missing? By the way: I think May and Taylor made a mistake reuniting Queen... it would have made a bit more sense with Deacon, who refused... but I don’t want to derail the discussion; I respect your opinions.

For me, Mercury and May are the leaders of the band, the frontmen, the ones who embody the image of the band; that said, Taylor and Deacon were no less important in the dynamics of the group. To me, in Queen as in Zeppelin or other great bands, no one is indispensable or more important than the others; they all contribute equally. I do believe, however, that there needs to be a leader: in Queen, that was May and Mercury. That's how I see it!!!

Well... this review didn't really excite me... also because of the judgments you made on Taylor and Deacon, two truly excellent musicians. I consider them irreplaceable because in those great bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Queen, every single member was fundamental to creating that harmony and creativity that led these great groups to produce masterpieces like "Innuendo." I would say that maybe Deacon and Taylor are not technically at the top, but I have always highly respected them for their professionalism and for the fact that they did their job, and simply put, they did it well. As for your comments about the album... there are some interesting points, but it lacks organicity and coherence; it feels like a shopping list... not to mention a few mistakes in the transcription. You can only improve from here... although reviewing Queen for the first time seems a bit ambitious to me... don't you think? In such cases, you need to study other reviews carefully and keep revising, correcting, or completing what you've written. For example, I often find myself working on a review for two weeks... the score is a 3, more as encouragement than anything else since it's your first review... keep it up!

Good job, you wrote a nice review, but it's a bit long. Speaking of the album, well damn, nevermind is nothing compared to it. "in utero" is a great album, the best of the 90s and of Nirvana, no doubt about it.
