Flying Lizards Flying Lizards

5 to the record because there's already house and industrial inside that will come years later... and then it's a great record. Essential mention, ege, well done ;)

Oh, this is really well done. I’ve known the guy in question for a while, but I always imagined that this record would be a great one... maybe it’s just an okay one.... ;) I'll listen to it.

I admit, I know him little, but I'm glad someone wrote this review......;)

kling klang in honor of Kraftwerk or in honor of the noise of the steel mills in Porto Marghera? The difficult judgement is left to posterity, indeed.... Vale Sfascia.

holy words Ghemison..........bjorketta, but you didn’t specify one thing: Patti loved Rimbaud, but she also had Verlaine (Tom).....ah ah ah ah......I know, I’m too charming ;)

The Boards of Canada album is a beautiful record, kyklos, I agree. As for Aphex Twin, I would also mention Selected Ambient Works Vol. 2...... I don't know why, but Mouse on Mars don't really excite me...... Thanks, Ghemison, for all the tips (wow, those live shows must be interesting, let’s wait and see....)

I just thought of an interesting piece, San: it's "Persian Surgery Dervishes" by Terry Riley, give it a listen… Then there’s the more entertaining and groundbreaking "A Rainbow in Curved Air," but that's a whole other story…

no kyklos, don't get me wrong, I wanted to make almost an hyperbole about eno to explain the concept I was discussing... Of course, eno is one of the greatest of all time, and like you, I will never get tired of listening to his works... @San: I agree with your descriptions of Basinski's works, perhaps I don’t fully condemn the Loops, but I don't exalt them either... Regarding the tip, I’ll tell you that this is not exactly fertile ground for me: let's just say I know a little bit of the good stuff, and I'm starting a phase of deeper exploration. If anyone has some advice, feel free to share... The only advice I give is: stay away from "An Accidental Memory In The Case Of Death" by Eluvium, a kind of ambient minimalist piano similar to Einaudi: like the good Ludovico, Eluvium also seems a bit opportunistic to me. The album may even seem pleasant, but after a while, I find it only irritating...

I found them interesting as an idea, a bit monotonous and empty in the long run... but when it comes to ambient and avant-garde, it's hard to pass judgment: for example, on what basis is Music for Airports by Eno considered a masterpiece? Especially for the concept it expresses (just like Discreet Music), one doesn't really focus on the music itself (which maybe isn't even truly present in that context)... Basinski positively impressed me with this work I reviewed because, unlike "loops," it gives me not only a conceptual interest but also some beautiful sensations: the sounds really come through, and so I believe that, just as the "code" of ambient music dictates, the mission is accomplished... and I find some of the interlocks brilliant. What do you say, maybe the next work will be the masterpiece, San?
