Look, I also hope I'm wrong, but I've been looking into these things for a long time now, and damn, unfortunately it's all true.
Anyway, I don't know much about Madonna, but of the few things I remember, there's her having sex under a crucifix (upside down or bloodstained or something like that), and various subliminal messages that don't exactly talk about philosophical dilemmas.
And it's not the world that's ugly, as you say, but the shitty regime that governs it.

I'm talking specifically about the content of songs: extreme sex, satanism, drugs, and anti-religion are the typical ideas that those in power seek (and succeed) to spread in every way and in every guise to make them fashionable. Why? Because drugs finance secret government operations, uncontrolled sex reduces birth rates and family longevity, making us fewer in number and controlling us better, and religion gets in the way with its good principles and prevents us from believing indiscriminately in all their nonsense. I don't believe that Madonna, as a person, is a convinced satanist as all her songs suggest (perhaps a whore, yes, but a satanist...)
