The Prodigy The Days is My Enemy
Voto:
For me, the best was achieved with the first two albums. Already with Fat of the Land, there were signs of decline. It’s better not to comment on what followed. Of course, as a longtime fan of The Prodigy, I didn’t deny myself the chance to give this a listen. I attentively listened to the 3 singles and somewhat casually to a few other tracks. None of them made me even slightly excited. After 6 years, I honestly expected a bit more. Good review, well done.
P.S.: It’s not directly related to the genre, but staying in the electronic realm, check out Shlohmo's new album, Dark Red. We're on another planet.
Oceans Ate Alaska Lost Isles
Voto:
Well done in the proposed genre. A genre that here, by now, is really out of fashion. Once this was right up my alley, now I'm getting older and, alas, I gladly do without it. I didn't mind the review.
Subsonica Una Nave In Una Foresta
Voto:
Personally, I've always appreciated them. And so, from memory, I believe that among the first records I bought as a kid, some were actually by Subsonica. I'm very fond of them. I loved them, lived them, danced to them (I've seen several live shows), and listened to them to the point of exhaustion. However, with Eden, they hit rock bottom. I listened to this one once, maybe twice. It seemed a tad better (not that it took much), but I fear that Subsonica have completed their journey with L'eclissi. Good job on the review and the proposal.
Maccio Capatonda Italiano Medio (film)
Voto:
I have loved Maccio since the dawn of time, but I too fear that in a movie, I might lose my mind. For this reason, I haven't seen it yet and I doubt I will do so anytime soon, at the cinema.
Marilyn Manson The Pale Emperor
Voto:
Artist (?) started and finished in the span of 3 years. With Antichrist Superstar the peak and at the same time the bottom.
Verdena Endkadenz Vol. 1
Voto:
I, on the other hand, didn't like Wow at all. I found it an unnecessarily long-winded mess. If the tracklist had been significantly trimmed down, it could have resulted in a single good album (saying nothing). That said, I prefer their messy side rather than their singer-songwriter one (maybe that's why I didn't love Requiem much either). The last one I genuinely enjoyed - to be honest - was Il Suicidio dei Samurai. This volume 1 (what a bad habit) of Endkadenz, judging by the singles, seems to promise well. Cute, catchy, dirty, and a bit stoner. A bit excessive. Tough and abrasive Derek. Curious. I'll listen.
Punch They Don't Have To Believe
Voto:
Great review. As always, it makes me want to try.
HBO & Nic Pizzolato True Detective
Voto:
Here it is, preceded by a comment. True Detective is a great series, the difference is definitely in how it's done rather than what it is (that is, the plot). Fargo by the Coen brothers, judging by the first 4 episodes, outshines it. And it's captivating me like only a few other TV series do.
David Fincher Gone Girl
Voto:
I still have to see it, but I absolutely want to. In the meantime, however, I've listened to the OST by the duo Reznor/Ross, and it's divine. Not on the level of The Social Network, but still extremely high quality.
Killing The Dream Lucky Me
Voto:
Hi, my name isn’t Clemente but you made a spectacular debut. For me, this is the pinnacle of Killing the Dream and one of the best HC records out there. As ZeroKanada says, just the opening of Blame the Architects is worth the price of admission. But we can’t overlook Testimony and especially the closing track, Black. PS: Bannon’s artwork... well, do we even need to say anything?
