Genesis And Then There Were Three...
Voto:
I fully agree with the review... especially regarding the sound amorphism... neither prog nor pop... However, despite this, the last remnants of grandeur still persist (just like in Duke, after all...) Burning Rope is truly expressive from this point of view... Undertown and Many Too Many, then, on their own (and alongside Burning Rope) are worth the purchase of the album. Even the first track, especially in its final moment, is delightful... In short, an album that's at times melancholic, with pronounced dips in several songs, but still manages to convince despite the sad artistic decline being practically at the door... As I mentioned in my review of Calling All Stations, the downfall of Genesis was that snare drum player Phil... what a shame... because he was artistically gifted too... but he's like Gilmour... as long as he's contracted with other artists, he gives his best... alone (because since Abacab he's practically ON HIS OWN... except for a few notable episodes... like Mama, for instance), instead, he turns out to be completely devoid of imagination and inventiveness... (and yes, he's also topped the charts worldwide...)

As far as I know, the album didn't get much love from the critics... and it even had serious sales issues... I only listened to the title track once on the radio... and I have to say I liked it a lot. Good reception, but let me tell you... too biased... :-) Anyway, regarding the anti-anonymous filter, if I were you, I would have left it... even though there are some idiot anonymous people, it's still interesting (and fun) to give space to provocations..! Bye

While the grandeur of this work remains intact, I am of the opinion that even today, there are works not inferior to this album, but which have not been cleverly supported by a rapacious advertising campaign. I won't add anything to what I expressed in my review of Pain Of Salvation, but I believe "Be" is a contemporary album absolutely comparable in greatness to this sacred monster of rock.
