Cristina Donà La Quinta Stagione
Voto:
I don't know, I’ve given it quite a few listens and yet I still can't fully grasp it.
I sense a bit too much of a lack of the splendid sound textures that characterized his previous works; the same goes for the lyrics. That said, Cristina remains one of the best representatives of Italian female songwriting.
The Shins Wincing The Night Away
Voto:
A bit of disappointment on the first listens, perhaps because they were much more direct in their previous works. However, it's an album that grows with every listen, with melodies that are never trivial and always irresistible. Heavy rotation.

Splendid, even better for me than Systems/Layers.
Badly Drawn Boy Born In The Uk

Seen live Saturday night in Milan. Excellent performer, although he expressed being "pissed off" more than once due to some technical issue that was haunting him. The only downside was dedicating most of the setlist to the new album, sacrificing too many gems from the past. Harmonically and melodically, his songs are a delight.

Dave Matthews Band Live @ West Palm Beach, 11 Agosto 2006

Beautiful, your emotion is still felt between the lines. Great band, overlooked by us, and I still wonder how that's possible when they make music that is so accessible to everyone. Perhaps that's exactly their flaw, being difficult to categorize in a time when the label "alternative" comes before quality. I really envy you this live experience!

I vote for Verona, not having been to the Forum.

A stretched 3 for an album so highly praised but that has little impact on me. Ziabice, do you agree with me that Built to Spill are several steps above?

But where is the line that separates eclecticism from a lack of ideas?
