I think worse judgments than mine have been issued here. And, in short, I reiterate that culturally, Albini and Gazzè are on different planets, regardless of personal tastes (make no mistake, I haven't forgotten about personal tastes). If you want to position yourself as a champion of total relativism, not just artistic but also in terms of consumption, I certainly won't stop you. Someone can have Leone di Lernia and Stockhausen on their iPod, I'm not going to prevent that. But neither can anyone stop me from thinking that this is the result of a media bombardment (including on the web) that leaves little room for real awareness of what one is listening to.

It’s not a matter of prejudice (I didn’t like the review itself; it’s not clear why the album is considered innovative), the point is that I abhor cultural hybrids that juxtapose opposites without achieving a meaningful synthesis. However, I don’t agree with creating fake identities to talk about “real” albums; I see no reason for it. It would be the victory of the a priori value of the nickname, an alter ego as if one must hide the enjoyment of certain music from the public. The point is, when faced with a crossroads, to choose between Albini and Gazzè (because culturally they cannot be placed side by side, regardless of personal taste) and to avoid having on your iPod both the Pixies and the latest Slipknot album (as I have personally witnessed). But all of this in the light of day, without shame and without creating Pirandellian fakes, which are an existential defeat, as far as I’m concerned. Unless one creates fakes just to have a laugh, which is fine too.

It's not a matter of gender, but of quality.

Nice, maybe a bit wordy. And slightly indebted to Slint.

It seems to me that no one has slapped you with a nice 1 on a crappy review (and you deserved it...) so I don’t see what you’re complaining about, dear Trofeo. You tell yourself you’re a "discreet connoisseur of music" and then you review Papa Roach at almost 30 years old. Okay, there's taste, but at least let us criticize the cover (at least that...) of the album in question; we have that right, after all.

"But let's start talking about this CD, which I must admit left me somewhat puzzled on first listen. However, as a modest connoisseur and great music lover, I know that it's always right to reserve more than one listen for a work"... talk about a modest connoisseur!

Are these still going around?? What a cheesy cover... better the one by Marco Carta, look. You were still the one who only listened to Nu Metal, right? :-D
