The Bastard Sons of Dioniso L'Amor Carnale

Well, there are bands that are institutions of indie and international alternative rock that are much more famous and well-known than Capovilla & Friends (the Pixies come to mind, who even opened several concerts for the supermarket rock band U2, for example, or Sonic Youth who signed with Geffen), and this fact has never posed any problem for me personally, at least. I don't know how others feel about it.

Well, for me Dell'impero delle tenebre is an example of nauseating mix between that post-hardcore from across the ocean twenty years ago (raw and unembellished) and the typically Italian tendency to soften the played material with that round and comforting professionalism that absolutely doesn't belong to the genre in question. The lowest point of the album for me is an unbearable singer-songwriter ballad, full of that annoying pathos always made in Italy, the title of which I can’t recall now. However, I really like (a lot) the first work of the much-criticized Offlaga Disco Pax, so I’m not making it a question of nationality, which I wanted to emphasize.

Bastardi + Capovilla + Brondi = an explicit invitation to take up gardening. Or even stamp collecting, if you prefer.

I do not agree with the notion that punk has more stylistic than cultural value. Style without a significant cultural value behind it is mediocre and a hollow trend, a situation I don't believe can be associated with punk, especially when I think of certain bands in the genre that had a very well-defined weltanschauung.

This American disc only has the production, I think. After all, we are not Americans.

Look, I now remember a comment I wrote recently on a review of Primiballi, where I might come off as the know-it-all of the moment, but even there, if you look closely, there's an explanation for my attitude :-) And my criticism, while harsh, was directed at the review, not the person. Unfortunately, here, records and reviews get confused with people. Can I say that I didn't like your review without expecting you to respond by calling me an asshole?

You used the term contempt, not me. I even told you it's a very ugly term, just think about it. If you can find a sentence I wrote, like an opening statement of a newly born discourse, something like "If you don't think like me, you're an integral part of the undergrowth of humanity," I'll buy you a pizza. I suggest you take a look at the last dispute, the last nonsense I had with Fjelltronen recently, see for yourself how it started and notice who threw the first insult :-) Forget about games.
