Dinosaur Jr. Farm (Limited 2CD Edition)

Sure, reaching 50 and thinking about scraping together some cash from concerts and reunions without releasing new albums, perhaps uninspired ones (which would bring in more decent money) seems, all in all, an acceptable compromise. Of course, just a little while ago the new Minotaur box set came out, absolutely pointless and self-congratulatory, but as long as they don't tarnish the Pixies brand with new works for a new generation of nerds (which I might belong to, having not truly experienced the '80s), I will always respect them.

This album has bored me to tears; okay, it’s the Pixies, but enough already. Black Francis & Co. haven’t created any new material since '91 because Deal wants to avoid looking like she's exploiting the Pixies brand. Every band has its time, and here they’ve definitely crossed the line.

What a deep cover with an existential aftertaste. What is that, a mammoth?

Anyway, Bug doesn't drive me crazy either; I prefer the first two of the Dinosaurs.
