However, I didn't say that Boston resembles Queen; I said they are a Queen without a shred of irony, just to highlight how pompous and kitschy they were. I don’t know why only the name Queen sticks in the mind...

Ah, the fantastical conservatory... really, you come out with an excessively developed critical competence.

Oh my God, More than a feeling, Boston... basically a Queen without a shred of irony... certainly, there couldn’t be a band more at odds with the Velvet Underground than this :-D

But are we blaming a '60s record for sounding too sixties? :-D In my opinion, and despite the pop melodies that I don't think can be considered a flaw (also because they're never polished but always delivered to the ear with a certain underlying neurosis), it also and especially sounds very '70s, '80s, '90s. On the other hand, you can find the saccharine melodies of the time much more in other bands, like the Beatles for example :-)

Both are sixties, there's no need to overthink it. It's just that in 2009, the rock of Run Run Run might be harder to digest than the timeless melody of There She Goes Again.

I talked about Run Run Run as perhaps the less fresh piece of the work (or the one distinctly more sixties), solo aside, but to try to align with Mike's thoughts. My rating of the album speaks for itself.

I love the somewhat forgotten works like this one, and at the time I think it didn’t receive much critical acclaim either. It’s 10 pieces that outline stories of everyday melancholy, blending slocore, emo, and psychedelia. Autopilot, in the end, is the unexpected low blow, one of those minimalist post-ballads filled with that '90s teenage spleen that inspires you to shoot the video of your own life.

Mike's reflection seems to fit only for Run Run Run; the rest of the album is a concentrate of everything that has been heard in alternative rock over the last 40 years. This is one of the reasons it is remembered as a watershed moment.
