"Giving it a 1 seems like nonsense to me." To me, your posts seem like nonsense; you're grasping at straws to justify who knows what. The aforementioned album sucks, what the hell does it change whether it gets a 1 or a 2? The point is that it sucks. And if in the '80s there were people like J.G. Thirlwell and Husker Du around, it also seems logical to give this one a 1. @DSALVA: I have all the ORIGINAL studio albums by Queen, don't worry, I'm not just talking out of my ass.

It seems to me foolish to search for a supposed musical technical value in A Kind Of Magic. I wouldn’t invoke "alternative" music in such a broad sense; one risks talking about what they don’t know and don’t understand.

This is indeed one of the best reviews I have ever read. I got the box today, seminal to say the least. It includes all the institutions of alternative rock to come, but absolutely all of them. Aside from that, which I don't really care about much, the three discs are fantastic in their own right. In Youth of America I can even hear the Suicide.
