Old times, such old times. I never played it, but I got to know it through a review for the Megadrive back in the day... the era of Loaded for PSX and Spot Goes To Hollywood also for Megadrive... oh my, I’m not sure if those were the exact years, but it’s close enough. Those nervous moments are truly a nostalgic trip. Look, this has nothing to do with the game in question, but given your expertise: have you ever played Biker Mice From Mars for SNES by Konami? A game that basically went unnoticed, I wore it out when I was a kid, especially with two players, it was so much fun.

Am I even disappointing you?? You're putting too much pressure on me :-P Anyway, it's the more orchestrated pieces with heavy arrangements that convince me the least... I actually prefer the drier ones, from the two linked (which are beautiful) to, for example, the pleasant Sweetheart and Beautiful Pigeon.

You've really become obsessed with this concept of usefulness... :-P

Mmm... I’m listening to it again, the pieces I like the most are exactly those linked by Cappio, the other tracks convince me very little... at times it feels like I’m listening to the dub version of Foetus, but with arrangements that are way too messed up... I don’t know. For sure there’s meat on the fire for those who wanted experimentation :-)

Secondhand Clothes seems to me a great example of unhealthy dub/noise/singing à la Captain Beefheart, with a fresh and staggering rhythmic section, just as the new sensitivity of the '90s demanded... unless by experimentation one means unbearable pseudo-intellectual drivel.

I mean, it's incredible! Just yesterday I was listening to it for the first time, wondering why it hadn't been reviewed on Deb, and today your review! Great album, slightly pushed in certain arrangements (especially the jazz ones), while Callahan and Fiedler's performances are characteristic. The cover suggests a very naive American indie-low fi album, but as soon as the first track starts, there's a great professionalism and attention to detail that's typically English :-)

Damn those scratchy refrains, does anyone have a band-aid by any chance?

I fully endorse every letter of post 45 by Alex, but the highlight comes from Fiquè when he mentions Albini up there: not even Kubrick would have dared that much. Now, as punishment, StupidGirl should listen to At Action Park on repeat for a month: you'll see how she forgets about the surplus of ailments and chrome :-)

"but in the meantime, if you could manage to get a diploma in piano like the silly one writing to you, at least we could talk on equal terms." Just wait for us to start today, I can't wait for them to teach me good taste and critical spirit.

I don't follow classical music, and after reading the review, I realize that I will never follow it in my life. It's just a parallel world.
