First of all, I compliment you on the review, excellently written. I understood the concept of pop as simply "popular." Springsteen makes rock music known by many; that's the sense of "pop." The criticisms in the subsequent posts (aside from technical critiques of his songs) are an evident symptom of very little knowledge about Bruce Springsteen. A man of integrity, a dreamer, a motivator, and one of the few who truly believes in what he does and engages you. The concert at San Siro during the tour following this album will remain, in this sense, a cherished memory. A singer who, you can see from a mile away, gives everything for his supporters. He doesn’t do things he doesn’t believe in. He doesn’t do things just for the sake of doing them. This is the case with this album. Who has had the courage to dedicate an entire album to this tragedy? A flaw of his? Too transparent and real for a music business filled with ravenous beasts like that of pop rock or whatever you want to call it. My rating for the album is 4, "Rolling Stone" gave it 5 masterpiece. For me, it's wonderful too, but the benchmarks are his previous masterpieces.
