But the cover: who the hell came up with that? Wasn’t a kick in the ass better? Everything is awful: the concept (cheerfulness! Time passing! Let’s show how messed up you’ve become with a nice photo comparison); the title (ugh, I don’t even know what to say, MAX20? As original and engaging as a copy of Sole24Ore from the previous year sitting in a seat in the stands during halftime of the last Juve-Inter); the fonts, the gray shade, and Max’s clothes (none of them are right).

Over time, I’m appreciating these early albums more and more. Of course, the trilogy Born to Run-Darkness-The River is unattainable. But this album and the first one have a freshness and spontaneity that might be lost starting from the next one. I still remember an afternoon many years ago when I heard Sandy, Incident, and NY Serenade for the first time. Memorable.

For decades and decades, I’ve seen it on charts all over the world. I recognize its importance; in fact, I even add the adjective "seminal" (reviewer, what a grave omission: "seminal" you have to include if you want to look cool! It used to be a bit like shallots, now it's for the chefs), but I've never liked it. Davide: I notice you’re putting together your nice classical discography, which is good, but know that we ALL did it before you, at least here.
