Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

I thought the first thing you would say to me was "Jimmy Chamberlin was the drummer of the Smashing Pumpkins and Zwan." Thanks for the tip. Listen to it and you'll hear what it means to play the drums with passion without needing "twin monster" setups with triple bass drums and 200 microphones that even pick up the farts you make. Listen to Siamese Dream by the Pumpkins, okay? I'm ready to listen to a CD recommended by you. Bye.

I respond with the same "bullshit" (objectively true, but you just don’t want to understand) because you never manage to counter it. I already have the reason even without you giving it to me, you know ;o) so you don’t make me happy, until you understand you don’t make me happy ;O)

I keep repeating that your last reactions are excessive, given the content of my posts... it's you who is now coming to find me, so what the hell are you complaining about? Giorgio, on the other hand, is incapable of putting together any kind of conversation... he just gets angry and never listens. Bye beautiful people, see you next time, keep backing each other up because you're fantastic. That way I know if I find one, the other is also there ;o)

Robi, those who agreed with my copied posts were explicitly fans of the Dream... you spoke well of them and so they agreed. It doesn’t seem to mean much, it's quite logical. Then, Giorgio, what did I write that was so provocative? You didn’t even try to understand what I’m trying to explain, and it’s a pretty simple thing. Tastes are tastes, so the REM can get on your nerves and disgust you, and I accept that peacefully. Putting them on the same level as Bon Jovi would be impossible for anyone who knew both bands. Stop. The calmer I am in my posts, the worse your reactions are. Now Robi even goes to comment where I comment and supports those debating against me. Dear Robi, it’s true that I did something similar with you, but I was trying to be ironic, not vengeful, since I didn’t have a wounded pride to avenge. I just wanted to tease you without trying to prove anything to anyone but you. Your reactions, your alliances, only show that yours are just petty annoyances. Keep going, then I would be the kid... whatever.

Yes, of course, why not? As soon as the discussion gets a little more serious and precise, you are left speechless... how sad.

on the contrary, it's an incorrect comparison. it's like saying that David Bowie and Oasis are on the same level. this already conveys the idea better, I think...

Guys, let’s really drop the comparison between Bon Jovi and R.E.M. Even just as a musical phenomenon, there’s no comparison; anyone would tell you that they aren’t on the same level, period. I'm not talking about "technique" (that was never brought up) but about cultural importance in '80s and '90s music and as a phenomenon that has many facets, on a musical, lyrical, conceptual, and political level. Bon Jovi makes great commercial rock, sells a lot of records, plays well, has nice melodies, and he has a great voice. I agree on this. But they are two completely different worlds and not comparable. I hope this time I have explained myself thoroughly (albeit briefly) without "offending" anyone. Then, I’m not interested in Bon Jovi, and you aren’t in R.E.M., fine. I accept that. But it’s like saying that Queen and The Beatles are on the same level. It’s an exaggerated comparison, but just to make a point...

Don't worry, Norma, who gets angry. I'm just sorry that Giorgio can't understand the true value of R.E.M. Everyone has their own tastes, sure, pairing them with the Backstreet Boys is a poor, poor provocation, almost a petty insult. The review isn't great and certainly doesn't help. After all, those who only know the songs from R.E.M.'s best-selling albums can't grasp the entire phenomenon. You try to explain it quite well, "observazione," but as usual, with certain people, those words fall on deaf ears. Patience.

Well, it seems to me that the brat is you... you always try to get along with everyone, changing the tone and style of your posts depending on the responses you get, sweet-talking those who agree with you. Now I wonder why all this anger... you’re the one who has been annoying, always writing the same things and complaining that no one answered you or took you seriously, when in fact many have chatted with you for a long time and debated with you (myself included). I don’t need to be unmasked; I’m always myself, just trying to use a bit of irony, and I'm sorry if that burns you, but in the last post (that made you so angry, how scary I am haha) I don’t think I wrote anything that terrible. And I’ve never used expressions like “licking ass,” “managing to smear you,” etc. If I really wanted to kiss up to easy, it would be to become someone here, not in life... did you think my life was all about this? I don’t know, but it seems to me that the brat is not me. Really, just stay calm; you’ll benefit from it... and if you don’t want to reply to me anymore, that’s fine... anyway, I had no doubts that you didn’t know who Jimmy Chamberlin is... ;o) Do you like Bon Jovi?
