Hello!

I am neither pessimistic nor optimistic. I wait, and anyway, if you'll allow me to say so, the contemporary return under the banner of the Smashing Pumpkins of Messrs. Corgan and Chamberlin might be enough for me.

To shift gears a bit, let's play a game of spotting the most obvious references. Aside from Regression (and therefore, the spirit carries on) with Outside the Wall by Pink Floyd. Then again, Pink Floyd with Money VS Beyond This Life (the central part with solos). Not to mention the choruses reminiscent of DARK SIDE OF THE MOON towards the end of The Spirit Carries On.

But easy, did you know that the Smashing Pumpkins (Chamberlin & Corgan) are in the studio working on new tracks for a future album? I don't know anything else for now. I know it doesn't matter, but since you mentioned Jimmy, I wanted to drop that. If they come to Italy this time, I'm not missing them.

"I’m a die-hard fan of Dream Theater, but I listen to everything: from black, to death, to prog, to thrash, as long as it's metal and well-played." Do you expect someone like this to respond intelligently? I don’t understand people who feel offended because the reviewer responds to comments in a precise and detailed manner, showing that they know what they’re talking about. It’s an attitude I’ve always hated, like those schoolmates who resent those who do well because they themselves always get a 3. Expressing a clear, well-argued opinion, with the evident support of a vast knowledge in the field in question, is neither a demonstration of arrogance nor presumption. Arrogance and presumption lie instead with those who, clearly showing they don’t know the field as well, want to attack and wrongly judge the reviewer’s attitude. Instead of thinking—something that many seem to view as a sin—would you prefer everyone to conform to your limitations? And don’t take offense at these words, because there’s none intended. It’s a simple analysis of the facts. I’m one of those who changed their mind from the day I made my first comment on this review. Bye!

x Dune Buggy: in your first comment, it seems you clearly demonstrated an understanding of what my "critique" in the review was directed at. If even just one person understands, it means it was worth it.
