Great review, I agree that the first one wasn't anything special and that it had to compete with other much more important releases. However, they bounced back brilliantly with the next two albums.
Why isn’t my review of "American Beauty" included...maybe due to the "The" before the band's name, they could merge them, right?!?!

Well.
For a debut, it's truly a spectacular one.
I keep sensing vibes that remind me of Grace by Jeff Buckley. I really love the arrangements in general, and the voice creates truly unique atmospheres. Nice album, with moments of excellent music.
Anyway, I think it sounds even better live. Great discovery... let's hope it continues like this!

..What an album!
Downloaded a couple of hours ago and it's already looping in my head.
Unfortunately, out of 14 tracks, I've only found 11, but that's okay.. there’s great music, diverse, deep, and captivating.
A strong point of this album is its extreme influence and eclecticism... it moves from jazzy moments to super-tired blues and even psychedelic ones. All of this is then enriched by Marvin's profoundly deep voice :)
What a great album... definitely a 5. Thanks to the radio, to debaser, to you Paolo, and to me.
And they all lived happily ever after!

Yes, live it was very magnetic; it started quietly with everyone busy with beers, joking around, and peace signs :) and ended up with a nice group of people gathered under the stage watching him.
