Pixies Doolittle

Tell him Garage is the genre closest to the Pixies.

But I would take 5 away from everyone, I would give 4 to Confusion is Sex, Daydream Nation, and Evol. All the other 3 (including Dirty) would get 2, along with the last 4 albums (I don't like any of them). Maybe Sister a bit higher than Dirty, 3.5. Have you ever tried listening to Flipper and their Generic Album? Some tracks from that album (released before SY's debut) contain all the 80's Youth vibes, for me it's a must-have.

And finally, the ultimate weapon of the Vasco fan, the insult :D

Ah, stop being such a pain about Mtv, don't make yourself look any more ridiculous, you're backing a jerk who set up shop on Mtv, complete with designer sunglasses and a trendy hat, while the bands I mentioned have barely been seen on Mtv at all. The facts make you the target of Mtv, not me. Keep some dignity, come on, the doctor didn't prescribe you to cover yourself in ridiculousness, did he?

Oh yes, the Fugazi are really for rich kids, those who don’t have any Dischord stuff at home, they even sell it at the Autogrill, unlike Vasco who is "kontro il sistema." To be fair, I was referring to Minor Threat, but I'm just pretending you didn't click on my nick, so I'll play along, since we've completely lost touch with reality, for someone who "listened" to Fugazi (this is from Zelig, really!).
Interesting the petty-bourgeois argument "I know some black people" -> "I know what racism is" (autobiographical?), without obviously providing any reasoning to back up the rant of the rambling fool, who in a single sentence combines racism, sexism, and cheap populism. Do I need to point out to you that you have no arguments, or do you realize it yourself?

Going against the system is using k instead of c. It annoys everyone, but you keep doing it, fighting the established order that leads you to write in Italian and not like on the "cellu." Anyway, I see we've entered the classic "system"-"rebellion" loop typical of Vasco fans. A bunch of sheep listening to the same crap, deluding themselves into thinking they are unique and special, all 100,000 of them, all in the same place, all doing the same things, all dressed the same, all with the same trivial, superficial 8 ideas, all 8 the same. "If the confusion is huge, you find yourself in uniform" (quote: Paolino Paperino Band)

For the record, the compilation has been reissued after 20 years of oblivion, and you can find it pretty much everywhere :)
The album is seminal for no-wave, but not as important as you say in the opening, come on...
If you really want to hear other seminal albums at least as important as this one, I recommend the Generic by Flipper.

You rated it a 4 for "mediocre instrumentation."
The album is my favorite by SY.

I mean, so what? Is that what you call "rebellion"? Who in the world doesn’t hope to improve their social condition? Anyone? This text, so banal and stereotypical, would demonstrate what? "No to orders"? Lol, come on, you’re just proving what I’ve been saying for the last 5 posts.

Sure, sure, against the system. A fake drug addict who plays songs for a major label and has almost total media coverage, from MTV to TG5.
Minor Threat are against the system, Vasco is a tool for the use and consumption of the system, and he proves it every day with the banality he expresses in his songs, that false sense of "rebellion" against generic "bad guys" (because the idiots can't come up with names, just in case they risk losing service on TG4), with concepts so simple and superficial that even the average 3rd-year student can understand ("yeah, like, weed yes, death penalty no, like, hooray for girls, oh").
Discussion closed and re-closed, if you like it, everyone likes it. I still believe that if you had a few thousand listens behind you, possibly varied, you would significantly downsize Vasco, especially this aura of a bullshit guru that his fans with backpack-sandwich-beer-concert have created around him, which, if it's out of place for Ian McKaye (someone who has *backed up* what he says in his lyrics with actions, a figure who, compared to Vasco Rossi, should theoretically be the embodiment of God for his consistency, abilities, and creativity demonstrated over 25 years of career), for Vasco it's hilarious.
Like it or not, he's a pop singer who releases on a major.
