I was a punk just like others have been goths, or yuppies, or "gabbers," or flower children, or any other youth movement from the '50s to today. Since I was part of that movement, I can tell you what it was and what it wasn't, according to my personal experience, refuting a good part of the nonsense you assert without knowing a thing about what you're saying. And there’s a substantial difference between punk and the "pantera"; the former wasn't just music but a _movement_, with its flaws and its bullshit—there's no doubt about that—but it was a movement.

But by now, as you can see, being an old man, I listen to it very little. And Fugazi are post-rock; if you have to worry about what relates to punk and what doesn’t, you’ll never get anywhere. So if I were to review Wire's 154 or Send, would you complain that I only listen to punk? If you use this bullshit to laugh, that's fine, but if you really believe it, you're definitely off track.
