Roberto Benigni La Vita E' Bella

I don't share the reasons you give to justify the vote, anyway this is the last film by Benigni that I've seen... unfortunately in Benigni's films lately there's too much Benigni.

but "Iron Maiden on DeBaser with 85 reviews"....and as for the review, doing a track by track with scores for each single piece is quite perplexing..if you take the average it’s certainly not 10 or even 9 as suggested by the 5 stars.. for a brave new world, dreams of mirror, and especially blood brothers, half a point more would have been fair.

I really like the album, and not just a little.. in fact, I consider it the best of the second Dickinson era. I've never been able to digest Dance of Death, and I think the last one is just slightly better.. too much verbosity, too little badass heavy metal like Maiden’s style.. there were those who criticized Maiden for tending to repeat themselves.. well, I would have preferred yet another Fear of the Dark to such a reflective album as "A Matter...". This one, with tracks like "Wicker Man" or "Fallen Angel," still maintains a certain fast sound, and in other songs like "Blood Brothers," it highlights the poetic side of our guys.. for me, it's a really great album, even though the first five albums belong to a different category..

I would like to share my thoughts.. here it seems to me that there is no distinction between an objective rating of the film itself and a rating based on personal impression.. I give it a 5 and that rating is driven by the fun it gave me the first time I saw it.. it is certainly not comparable to the 5 I would give, for example, to Apocalypse Now or to mention a more recent one, The Departed.. They Called Him Trinity is a lighthearted, hilarious film, where the skit, the brawl, and the joke matter more than the plot or the character development.. we need to take things for what they are, dear M.Poletti, and I say this with no polemic because you can see it however you like.. but throwing mud at a film of this kind, in my humble opinion (since I’ve seen more than enough films, though I’m by no means an expert) is also too easy..

I still want to hope for a return to the glory of the early seasons with the upcoming movie... even though I am equally prepared to either praise or condemn.

without a doubt, The Simpsons are enriched by numerous quotes, but a brilliant idea is not enough to make an episode that isn't funny at all… I remember perfectly the scene reminiscent of Apocalypse Now, but the rest of the episode (as far as I can remember) was quite forgettable… it seems to me that the latest episodes are built precisely on this scheme: a pointless plot useful only to lead to the so-called "brilliant moment"... well, de gustibus… and let's not forget Futurama, from the same creators as The Simpsons.

@ M.Poletti: I fully agree with your analysis of the crudeness of the Griffins, ultimately a product created for one purpose: to provoke laughter (and it certainly has that effect on me and many others) at the expense of character depth, plot, and implicit messages. However, I would like to critique The Simpsons at this point: you say "always new stories and never boring," and here I find myself in complete disagreement. Personally, I find the episodes from the last 3 or 4 seasons to be strikingly flat, to the extent that I prefer reruns I've seen a million times. But probably the writers are focusing less on cheap comedy and more on a realistic portrayal, which I do not agree with since it's still a cartoon. Now, I explain this deviation in two ways: either those writing the episodes are getting old and therefore no longer have the mindset for funny gags, or they simply have run out of ideas and are filling the series with trivial episodes with recycled plots (Homer and Marge breaking up and getting back together like today’s episode has honestly worn thin).

best war movie? apart from the fact that there’s no war, let’s not joke about serious matters.. anyway, it’s definitely a good film and now a classic.. beautiful is the portrayal of the veteran, so essential on the battlefield, yet so marginalized and rejected by society once he returns home.. the sequels, in my opinion, are muuuuuch inferior to this one.. not to mention the IV that they are filming.. a shameful commercial operation..
