The Gathering How To Measure A Planet?
Voto:
Great review, a band that, overall, in my opinion, has been overrated...
Bathory Under The Sign Of The Black Mark

Beautiful, but the best is yet to come in my opinion... Blood Fire Death and Hammerheart (and also Twilight Of The Gods) are definitely better.
Candlemass Tales Of Creation
Voto:
Great review. This album is stunning, slightly inferior only to Nightfall... but that's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Blood Axis The Gospel Of Inhumanity

Unfortunately or fortunately, I am in the same position as Fidia...sorry, I want groups that are overly politicized, on both sides, to be completely out of the picture. That doesn't take away from the fact that this is an excellent review.
Dark Lunacy Devoid
Voto:
I agree, even now the best Italian band around. This album, well, it's something incredible... all the songs are intense and perfectly blend violence and elegance. Dolls, Forlon, Dicember, Varen'Ka, and Take My Cry are some of the most beautiful things I've ever heard...
Dark Lunacy Forget Me Not
Voto:
Brilliant. Very very complex. But once you overcome the complexity, you are faced with a truly incredible work. Serenity, Lunacyrcus, and the devastating Through The Non-Time are genuine masterpieces. Even the others don't pale in comparison... what more could you ask for?
Shape of Despair Angels of Distress

Wow Ozzy, I hadn’t realized we have such similar tastes!! You also love My Dying Bride, Dark Lunacy, Paradise Lost, etc... if you get the chance, take a look at my reviews!
Shape of Despair Angels of Distress

Yes, that's true, but it was more of a jab at the genre that, in my opinion, excessively amplifies certain characteristics of the canonical Doom or Doom/Death. Still, the fact that they are stars in this landscape is undeniable...
Blind Guardian A Night At The Opera
Voto:
Boring in many parts, however Precious Jerusalem and And Then There Was Silence save it from a complete failure.
Shape of Despair Angels of Distress

Great review, although perhaps a bit theatrical. Great group, but honestly, I believe there are more valid realities in this genre, not to mention that it often leans too heavily on ultra-depressing atmospheres, ending up feeling forced...and I'm saying this as a follower of Doom.
