Shape Of Despair Illusion's Play
Voto:
Good review but a bit stretched for an album that is far inferior to the previous one and has turned out to be a big disappointment... the Shape have taken it a bit too far here...

Oh yes, in my opinion Last Fair Deal is at most nice, nothing more even if subjectively I don't like it.

You blew me away. I haven't forgotten the later Katatonia, which is actually another band. Tonight's Decision, but especially Viva Emptiness, are great, no one disputes that. Simply put, if the later albums are very beautiful, this one is UNIQUE. Then again, that's just my opinion as a fan of Doom. Others probably disagree, like you, and I wanted to see if I’m really the only one... all said with affection, of course.

Thank you anyway for the insights and compliments... it was about time someone serious arrived to discuss on this site.

That sentence was provocative. I included it on purpose to spark a bit of discussion. I believe that the subsequent albums by Katatonia (not all of them) are nice, but honestly, among the various bands that have evolved their sound over the years, Katatonia are by far the most overrated. I mean, as long as we’re talking about Tonight's Decision, it’s fine... but when I’m told that Last Fair Deal or The Great Cold Distance (the disappointment of the year) are masterpieces... well, excuse me, but it doesn’t seem that way to me, even though I know I'm an isolated case :)
Moonspell Memorial

Your comment, Fidia, seems too nostalgic and disappointed, lacking objectivity :) The times of "Wolfheart" won't return, but "Memorial" is definitely above average and overall a well-made work (let's say a 7.5) that indeed grows with each listen over time. A 1 is really too low of a score.

Hee hee hee... and get ready for what’s coming next... no, but I promise I’ll try to mix it up a bit... maybe.
AA.VV. Lords Of Chaos: Die Geschichte Der Okkulten Musik

I hope you don't take it the wrong way, but I only agree with the fact that a fundraiser was unnecessary. Burzum can say what he wants and consider himself a serious artist, but he remains what he is: a megalomaniac with issues socializing, so it's not worth mentioning him. I don't agree about the book: despite its limitations, it's well made and doesn't propagate any great falsehoods (also because more than half the book consists of direct interviews with Vikernes, Samoth, Euronymous, etc.).

I waited months before writing a review of this album. I hoped my opinion would change, but it hasn't. For me, it's a mediocre record and above all, incredibly boring to the point of being soporific. The sound is dull, lacking in vitality and tension (and let's be honest, what have they changed from the last albums?). Disappointment of the year.
Eternal Tears Of Sorrow A Virgin And A Whore

I don't like it... I've only heard this but it didn't convince me. The sound of the keyboards is unbearable; they sound like Chicco's pianolas. I know it's a common thing in the genre, but it's gone too far. Rescheduled.
