I would like to clarify one thing, though... The reason bands like Rhapsody have had so much success abroad is because they first found success here. Italy is home to bands that are regularly overvalued and praised despite being ridiculous (Theatres Des Vampires are the perfect example of HOW TO MAKE A FOOL OF YOURSELF...) and others like the Bergamo-based Thunderstorm (my fellow citizens and a Doom-Metal band) who are almost ignored despite being worth ten times more than Lacuna Coil (who are a good band, but hugely overrated).... In my opinion, this is true for most local bands (with the exception of Stormlord and Necrodeath, which are really excellent groups!).

I listen to Power too.... But some things about Rhapsody are truly UNBEARABLE.
I know you will hate me for what I'm about to say, but if I want to hear some good power, I still listen to MANOWAR (feel free to throw any insults you want, but for me, they remain by far the best in their genre...)

With all the respect I have for Fallen, I don't see this level of high writing in Marduk... I can agree on Dimmu Borgir, other black metal bands that have excellent lyrics are Emperor or the early Ulver... But from this point of view, Marduk is very inferior (lyrics like FISTFUCKING GOD'S PLANET are not even remotely comparable to poetry....!) Maybe I'm biased :) but if I take a lyric from Anathema, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, or Death and compare it with any of Marduk's lyrics... well, in my opinion, there's no comparison!

In my opinion, the best in SYMPHONIC BLACK are Dimmu Borgir (Enthrone Darkness Triumphant or Stormblast)..... Or something from Emperor even though they aren't exactly symphonic!
