I like Death, but only the "intelligent" one (Death, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity..); I don't like brutal stuff at all. My favorite genre is Doom. Anathema, of course, on the front lines, then My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, Katatonia, Candlemass, Thunderstorm, obviously Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Saint Vitus... There are so many great bands in this genre!

Bathory, I have "Vampyrisme..." which, besides not convincing me at all (especially the vocals), doesn't seem very black to me... and it's the first CD. Well, the thing is I usually focus on Doom and I listen to black only a little, as you might have understood from my reviews, so maybe I got it wrong... If that's the case, I apologize.

It's not black. And I don't care if they're appreciated abroad... It's still not black.
And if they only play epic, power, or speed here, it's a problem of general mentality.
