Very nice. I agree with Cliff, the best is the title track!

Welcome back.

But I never said they have betrayed or become commercial. Simply, this album disgusted me and I'm not alone, it's static, lacks creativity, and bores immediately on the second listen. I don't blame CoF for making wrong choices, I just didn't like this work.

The Cradle are dead now I have the proof. This album is, in my opinion, the absolute worst they have ever made. It's a band whose best years are now behind them. For a while, they might still pull through, but it's only a matter of time before they also end up in oblivion since they no longer have the freshness, passion, and authenticity to return to the levels they once had (see DUSK AND HER EMBRACE, the only true masterpiece ever composed by CoF).

I don't think so, in my opinion, a full 5 is well-deserved!!

It’s been a little while since you’ve been around, right Fallen? Well, the review is well-written as always... but honestly, I just can’t stand Darkthrone. Sorry.
Anathema A Natural Disaster

It’s true what you said. Paradise Lost were the first to embark on the journey (89 Lost Paradise; at that time, MDB were just in their demo and EP phase while Anathema had just been born) and the first to diverge (95 Draconian Times is essentially the epitaph of the band's golden era). Their masterpieces Doom, Gothic, and Shades Of God are from 91 and 92 when the other two bands were still in their early stages. So the comparison is not feasible. Meanwhile, in the following years, even Draconian Times from 95 doesn’t hold up against The Silent Enigma and The Angel And The Dark River. As for the recent years, it's better to remain silent (or just one name: HOST).

Anathema A Natural Disaster

Even if we're being honest Rooster, I believe that (with all due respect for the Anathema, whom you know I adore) the Cavanagh brothers' band has almost always lost the long-distance challenge against My Dying Bride. SERENADES is nice but it's nowhere near TURN LOOSE THE SWANS; THE SILENT ENIGMA and THE ANGEL AND THE DARK RIVER are practically equal (don't ask me to choose one because along with GHOTIC by Paradise Lost, they are absolutely the records that changed my life); JUDGEMENT is slightly inferior to THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE WORLD; A FINE DAY TO EXIT doesn't reach THE DREADFUL HOURS and this pattern has repeated itself with their latest works.
Perhaps Anathema "won" only in '96 when they released ETERNITY, which is superior to the contemporary LIKE GODS OF THE SUN by the "cousins." But overall, the MDB discography seems objectively the best among the various Albion Doom/Death groups, or at least the most consistent.
I know they now all play different genres, but since they developed almost simultaneously, I felt it was fair to make these observations. Do you agree?
