Ah ok. This isn't serious for me. Excessive seriousness is an obvious flaw of mine that I willingly acknowledge.

The fact that we listen to this stuff isn’t your business. Obviously, this music conveys something very deep to us. Doesn’t it to you? That’s okay, it’s not a tragedy, everyone should listen to the music they love most, but don’t you think it would be easier for you to just ignore it? Labeling us as manic-depressive-psychopath-suicida l-gothic-hyper-satanic people who don’t really live because of the music they listen to doesn’t help much. Maybe it’s more reassuring for you.

And what is all this vehemence with which you feel entitled to judge a person you know nothing about? Do you think someone says certain things just for the mere pleasure of it? I believe that one forms a conception of things only through experience, and not sitting on the toilet as you very kindly assume I do. I have developed my own conception that is relative to my perception and experience. I don't think it's because I don't want to think differently. If I am pessimistic (cynical is more accurate), that's my business; with what right do you come to judge my life? I didn't say you can't dream; I just expressed my opinion. Illusions are part of most people. The fact that I don't have any doesn't stop me from living happily, quite the opposite. I believe I am much more alive than those who at least ask themselves questions and reflect (not sitting on the toilet, I assure you) compared to others who are in their hyperuraniums perceiving only the positive and most comfortable side for them.

Dreams don't help improve a damn thing... they only serve as a shelter to avoid facing a reality that's too harsh.
I don't think it's worth having a debate about these things. 1 for the review (which is well written) and 1 for an album you've never heard is not justified.

Good review. The genre is nice, in some cases excellent, but unfortunately also one of the most "fake" and artificially constructed in the entire Metal scene.

Well...I don't know. TURN LOOSE THE SWANS (My Dying Bride) GOTHIC (Paradise Lost) are on par with The Silent...
