Dimmu Borgir Stormblåst
Voto:
Horrible, they've ruined the previous album!!! Ah...one thing...HELLHAMMER not MetalHammer! 1 point less just for this.
Novembre Classica

Genius. This album is their best in my opinion. Cold Blue Steel, Nostalgiaplatz, My Starving Bambina are anthological.
Moonspell Darkness And Hope
Voto:
I haven’t listened to it much, so my opinion is subject to change. However, it's the one that convinces me the least from their discography. Aside from Firewalking and Nocturna (both beautiful), there are only nice songs, but overall they have done much better.
Sepultura Dante XXI
Voto:
I have always found Sepultura to be a good band. However, this album is unacceptable. What’s the point of drawing inspiration from the Divine Comedy only to handle it in such a superficial way?
Virgin Steele The Marriage Of Heaven And Hell
Voto:
The review is well done. The album is stunning, but I prefer PT.2.

Theatre Of Tragedy Velvet Darkness They Fear
Voto:
Superficial review. The only good album they’ve made in my opinion.
Moonspell Wolfheart
Voto:
1) I believe that even the later works of Moonspell are of good quality and are worth 100 times more than other bands circulating nowadays. Darkness And Hope and also The Butterfly Effect. They are worth much more, for example, than Theatre Of Tragedy...
2) I said that because for me that is not Gothic Metal, or it can't be categorized as such. There must be an extreme root. I would define Katatonia after Discouraged as Dark Rock, nothing more. Lacuna Coil are identified in Gothic Metal, but being a mediocre band (which we praise because they are Italian, and that's objective) I place them in that category that churns out horrible works on the market. I know I am a voice out of the chorus, but in my opinion, Lacuna Coil is a band of very low level (compared to Moonspell then...)

I tried to analyze the album from a musical perspective for the influence it has had on the genre. I intentionally refrained from dwelling on the lyrical and epic aspects; otherwise, I would have had to write an essay rather than a review, because this is a profoundly deep album... Anyway, your clarifications are correct and valid. The limitations of the genre (which I adore) are unfortunately evident, and in my opinion, the only bands that still manage to do something interesting are the ones that invented it... not even always.
Manowar Sign Of The Hammer

The best of Manowar. Thor the mighty, Thor the brave!!!
