@sfascia: esteemed, of the Crocodiles I prefer the one from last year that I reviewed, at least for now. Ah, in the quotes, I don't know why I forgot the third side of the triangle of shoegaze precursors (although this is debatable), namely the Loop.

cases of life: yesterday I was making my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter dance to this record, and I thought it was time for her to get the original. I knew the vinyl was non-existent, so I was already prepared for the hefty expense of €7 on eBay… and today look what the heck I discover: Ingrandisci questa immagine Obviously, anyone who doesn't come to Bronson is gay. Oh, by the way, for the occasion they're putting the vinyl back on sale!!!!

At the time, I liked it very much; I'm curious to see if it stands the test of time.

Reading about this record reminded me of a few things: a) apart from a live show with Motorpsycho about 9/10 years ago, I’ve never heard anything by Verdena - have I missed something? b) Anima Latina is climbing to the top of my next purchases list, also because it’s available for €5 everywhere c) I haven’t listened to Sandinista in ages, it’s time to make up for that, but as the good old azzo rightly adds, in small doses; so today I’m going for the dub version of One More Time. Unfortunately, Marypolly, you deserve a solid 1 not so much for the content, but for the abominable use (which has become widespread, but is not and never will be an excuse) of "piuttosto che" as a conjunction.

S.F. Sorrow by the Pretty Things aside, it’s, also for nostalgic reasons I admit, the only rock opera I like. I confess I know the lyrics of 3/4 of the songs by heart, thanks to the vinyl I bought for a pittance. I also understand that it might suck for a lot of people, as happens. Strangely, I prefer the version from the movie to the one with Gillian.

Well done, pinhead, you also reminded me that I need to gather my compatriots. I met Paolo Catena 10 years ago, and although his fame precedes him, I remember him as friendly but quiet.

@ligdjs: I have a very strict policy on duplicates on the site... unless absolutely necessary, I try to avoid them. Exceptions are albums that are incredibly good but have been reviewed horribly, or albums that I particularly love and feel like giving other perspectives on. In the other cases, if the review is well done (like in this case), I think it's fine as it is.

Fuck, it was in good company, on my long list of reviews to do. Nice, not like Maggot, but still great the early Funkadelic. And a special mention for the black model on the cover, with that typical 70s ass that is always a pleasure to see.

5 even just for Down At The Night Club! I'll read it later and like Dope I missed it a couple of times and I'm kicking myself.

beautiful as usual soulman, but on a suggestion I dug out the album a couple of years ago and was a bit... I don’t know. I admit I didn’t give it the attention it deserved, but honestly, it didn't impress me at all. I’ll make up for it.
