I smell the stench of bruce ban(ne), just to stay on theme. I wonder if SP likes mongoloids as well as "intelligent people."

I'll have to fix it sooner or later, my friends who saw them back then were singing the praises of the era you mentioned. However, I have to say, I’ll be unpopular, but I’m not that into paisley (Opal aside), even though potentially this is the stuff I prefer... hey superfuzz what are you up to?
Spacemen 3 Playing With Fire

After years of listening, I still can't decide which side of Spacemen 3 I prefer. Perhaps the perfect balance remains with Perfect Prescription, but after buying the vinyl of Sound Of Confusion, I realized I like them there. Blessed youth, when the music was still good, or rather when they were still nailing it, wrapping themselves in Stooges/Velvet loops that ended just as they began. A concentric liturgy, a cosmic serpent that slithers into the brain and spins forever. In fact, now I’ll review it... but first, welcome lapter. Oh, and a question for those present: can someone tell me who the hell is reissuing these records? I have this one on double CD from Space Age Records, Perfect Prescription from Taang, taking Drugs etc. from Bomp (but that one was just what it was, it didn’t exist back then) and the aforementioned vinyl of Sound Of Confusion from Fire Records. And also, odra, who the hell was pressing them back then? Bye.

Well then, happy Sunday, everyone. @òtarget: Yeah, once a year we manage to agree, I'd say that's a good average! Oh, I didn't write it on SdM (otherwise they'd kick me out for being a bothersome contrarian), but the Suckers' album really made me shit my pants. Sorry! @ale and azzo: I don't know, to me, this Cox is just like Ale describes him. Which, for me, is a flaw because I don’t believe in musically omnivorous musicians. I can't think of an artist I favor who listens to "everything." The less you listen, the better you play, in my opinion.

@azzo and others: so the Deerhunter discussion is complex for me. I have a visceral hatred for the lead singer, the one with the Hokkaido crab disease (I know, not very politically correct). I've hated him since the first time I saw him years ago, I can't help it (the rest of the band too, anyway). However, I quite liked Cryptograms (half of it) and Weird Era/Microcastle. I wanted to review the latest one, but in the end, I realized it’s not worth anything, except for three songs. I don't understand all the unrestrained praise I've seen everywhere regarding the supposed genius of the crab, especially when compared to the latest album (the first half of which would put the dead to sleep). In my opinion, when it comes to "latest albums," Menomena surpasses them and waves goodbye with a little hand wave. Then again, it's a personal judgment, obviously. @stefano90: the only flaw is indeed the whiny voice that gets tiring after a while, I agree. PS: talking about music with someone born in the 90s always leaves me stunned. Fuck time passing and the graying beard.

I never understood their success, but at least they don't want to be a bad copy of Groening's creations (like Griffin, American Dad, and various crap).

Well done Kirchner, you perfectly summed up my thoughts. Creation almost went bankrupt for all the money they spent trying to keep up with Kevin Shields' whims. But the result is a masterpiece. It's not one of my favorite albums, but it's a great record.

Just to be completely inconsistent with what I just wrote, I was listening to Nowhere by Ride while washing the dishes, and I have to say it’s not bad at all. However, I don’t understand the hype from an entire generation of listeners. @soulman: at this point, I recommend the vinyl version (which I got) - 6 tracks instead of 9, more concise and direct than the CD version that has a couple of drawn-out moments, like Spacemen 3 during the Playing with Fire period.

beware that Spacemen 3 are not exactly shoegaze, michoos. Too drugged to be that. @popolo: I also hate Slowdive, and those little voices altogether. @fiquata: I cover my head with guano, I couldn't manage to reply to you!
